We have eaten dinner and breakfast here at the Lodge and it is always delicious. The gardens is such a nice place to sit to enjoy breakfast and drink coffee. Then take a stroll through the beautiful garden. The bar is warm and cozy inside! And I love their fireplace and entertainment at night.

I was determined to have a great prime rib dinner. The fact that the Lodge features it on the menu and is dog friendly cinched the deal. We were shown to a table in a delightful grotto in the lovely garden area. The servers were friendly and Max, my dog, liked them.
Sadly, my much anticipated prime rib did not live up to expectations. "Chewy" is the best description. I had difficulty cutting through the fibers with the serrated knife.
Nice wine list.
Because of the lovely setting, we might give it another try on a return to Cambria, but I'll pass on the prime rib.

We’re happy to hear that you like our beautiful setting. On the other hand, it’s surprising that you received a tough cut of prime rib—one of our most popular specialties. Please remember that you may return an unacceptable entree to your server for a replacement. We want all of our guests to be happy! We hope you will indeed give us another try next time you are in Cambria.

When we lived more than two hours away from Cambria we would often come to stay at the Lodge and eat at this restaurant. Now, we live only 30 minutes away and we still come here to spend a night and have dinner. This particular occasion was a one-night Valentines Day getaway.

We started with a cup of chowder and a field greens salad, both of which were excellent, as was the warm, fresh bread served with them. For entrees we ordered the prime rib and a seafood special — sole stuffed with crab and shrimp. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and truly outstanding. We finished by sharing a chocolate cake dessert special and coffee, which we loved.

When dinner is served in the same rooms as breakfast it isn’t necessarily the most romantic or intimate of choices. But we love the Lodge and find the restaurant rooms to be quite warm, comfortable and enjoyable. Our service was excellent, as it always is here.

There is no question that we will return.

This rustic resort in the pines of Cambria was founded in 1927.
What a surprise when I opened the door to this spacious one bedroom suite. A large master bedroom with a sitting/dining room kitchen. Sinks in both rooms. A walk through bath and toilet separated by doors between. Two closets, a Murphy bed if needed with a Samsung TV in each room. And get this a fireplace in each room.
This is rustic decor but charming
Twenty five acres of grounds and gardens with a walkway around the perimeter. The lodge itself had a bar and dining room with a patio garden where we had breakfast both mornings.
Service was friendly and attentive.
We had a dinner package which included a main course entry and a bottle of wine. EXCELLENT!
We will be back next year and by the way, pet friendly.

We ate twice at this lodge and both nights were absolutely fabulous meals. Surf and Turf, 6oz filet, scallops and prime rib were alk excellent. The veggies, mac and cheese, brussels with cranberries were outstanding. The atmosphere is that of an old time lodge, no white table clothes here, bit the meal is comparable to fine dinning.
