The Sunday concert in the park was fabulous! We walked down to the park from The Mirasol, with beach chairs on our backs, sandwiches from the deli inside Park Place Liquor, a tote bag woth waters, cups and a bottle of wine. The music was great, and we danced for most of the evening. Such a fun evening. Get there at least an hour early to stakeout a spot.

Home town, small town, and everyone's town ... oh, wouldn't that be great? A lovely center of town, filled with grass, play equipment, a gazebo, and enough open space to throw an actual football without facing an assault lawsuit. Coronado got this right.

Coronado is (by itself) a slice of paradise (not a large one, mind you) and it just oozes those qualities found in community-centric locations. None could be better! The folksy library is across the street, fun little cafes and eateries line Orange Avenue (the main drag), and it embraces its art-deco identity with a whole heart.

The town planners held this treasured piece of real estate for the betterment and pleasure of the whole of the community. What a concept! Think it will catch on? Nah, I don't either. Sadly.

Nice place to stop and let the kid run around and play for a minute... We drove for a good minute to get to SD and we're looking for kid friendly places prior to checking in at the hotel.

Not necessarily a destination in itself, but certainly a pleasant place to relax in the heart of a bustling tourist town with plenty of room for kids to romp and play on an extensive installation of equipment just for them. There is a large gazebo anchoring the park which is often the focus of entertainment on weekends along with other weekend activities in the park. On a particularly warm day, the trees provide plenty of welcome shade. If you are walking around downtown, check it out right across from the superb library. Parking can be a challenge, so expect to walk a couple of blocks on a weekend.

Stopped here with the grands to check out the newly canopied playground. There were dancers practicing on the stage, families strolling by, and just a beautiful park in which to enjoy Coronado's great weather.Understand there are often concerts and special events staged here as well.
