It's summer and we needed a special place to celebrate some family birthdays!- We made a RSVP at The Salt Creek Grille for an early Saturday evening dinner. Lucky to get in as two wedding receptions were taking place. The lush grounds leading into the restaurant are very pretty They offer valet parking or nearby free parking in the parking lot- so easy.Upon our arrival, the hostess quickly escorted us to our table. The server soon followed and took our drink orders and made some recommendations. The menu was clearly marked with gluten free options as two of our guests follow a gluten free lifestyle. Two of us ordered the fresh catch of the day, halibut. It was $29 and came with vegetables and a starch. The chef prepared it to our requests and even substituted the starch (yummy Yukon Gold mashed potatoes for brown rice). Dessert for the birthday celebrants was complimentary and included a flourless chocolate cake and chocolate sorbet for the gluten free guest. On the way out, we got to enjoy the peekaboo ocean views of Monarch Beach as we walked to our cars. We look forward to going again!
