Me and my wife had the Pete’s special, my son had the ribeye steak. Steaks were excellent, but the sourdough bread was the best we ever had =] The service was great. We will definitely be back !

We ordered the Ribeye and the Baby Back Ribs and the food itself is excellent, so tender. Except the mac n cheese, don't order the mac n cheese. It's boxed and not appetizing. It doesn't take much to make it from scratch, but it was boxed.

The tumbleweed onions are sooo good and do not compare to an onion blossom from other places. Deep fried apple pie is delicious, could have been a bit more crispy but still very good.

Four stars, yes. the wait is why you need to bring your patience. Even with reservations the wait is always long and never when they promise. 10 more minutes turns into 30 or more. Gets crowded and finding a place to sit or stand becomes a challenge. Once your seated and have your food and a few drinks your happy and seem to forget about it for a while. Unless your driving, grab a drink at the bar...maybe two.

My family is split between the Bay Area and Sacramento Area. For years we've met halfway at what we all consider to be one of the best steak houses around, Cattlemens. Until tonight we have ALWAYS left raving about the food.

Tonight, the salad and bread were as always ... excellent. But then our main courses. Two of us got steaks and the third got a rack of lamb. The steaks were ordered medium rare and the lamb medium.

The food arrived and all dishes were so rare that they tried to crawl off the plate when we first cut into them. None of the dishes were even hot. We sent them back.

The second set of dishes came. My steak was almost well done. Another steak was about the same and both were barely warm. Both were also very dry. The lamb was still almost raw.

We talked with the waiter and he was very apologetic. At no time did any of us express anger with him, we just explained what had happened and that we were disappointed.

The waiter went and talked with the cook manager who came out and decided to comp our entire meal. A bit later the restaurant manager also came to our table, was totally apologetic and gave us a gift card for a substantial amount for our next visit.

I've never experienced such concern at a restaurant about their product and doing the right thing ... and more. To be honest, we felt that the meal should have been comped or close to it. But, the gift card was a major surprise.

Yes, we had a bad experience at a place we eat at 3 or 4 times per year. But, such an experience was not at all what we had experienced over a number of years of eating at this restaurant.

Without question, we will be back.

Stopped in for a beer and appetizer. Menu seems different but haven't been in for over a year or so. Tried the Kabob for $8. Very tasty but a really lousy cut of meat. Chewed and chewed and chewed and never did break down the piece into something to swallow. Tossed it in the trash and cut the rest into very little pieces so they could be swallowed after chewing and chewing and chewing.....suggest you avoid it.
Good beer and service. Kinda pricey for happy hour and no warning when that hour ends.
