“Beautiful waterfall”

Just off the freeway and an easy hike down through the forest, you come upon this delightful waterfall in front of a womb-like cavern. You can stand behind the waterfall and be sprayed by the water, cooling you down on a hot day. Red, iron-laden soil has been used to leave handprints on the rocks. Looking up there are tall columns of hexagonal basalt stone which when touched, make you feel this is a place where heaven & earth meet. Following the path beyond the waterfall, there is a vista point overlooking the Sacramento River. One warning: don't stray from the path, there is poison oak everywhere.

Park at the freeway off ramp and take a quick easy hike down a pretty trail to a cool waterfall with a small cave behind it. You feel like your a million miles from civilization but actually the freeway is only on the other side of that hill. One of the nicest waterfalls we visited on our " waterfall tour " of the Dunsmuir/McCloud area. You can actually visit Hedge Creek, McCloud and Burney falls all in only a few hours. Makes for a real nice day.

At the north end of town at the freeway entrance/exit, you'll find a little parking area for the falls. Its a short hike down and a short hike back. The falls are pretty but small. Its mostly shady.

It was a short distance hike and easy to find this water fall. We came here after we went to Mossbrae fall. Even thought it is not as beautiful as Mossbrae fall, it is nice to check it out . We even can walk behind the water.
