We totally passed this area and drove further down the road looking for it. We did not realize the little parking lot was right next to the freeway off-ramp. Pay close attention and you will see the sign for Hedge Creek Falls - keep to the right. After a short walk down the trail, you can hear the waterfall before you see it. It is a fun, little gem. there are wild boysenberries growing along the trail near the falls. Well worth turning around for.

There seems to be many "hidden falls" in this Mount Shasta area, and this one seems to be one of them but with easier access. Take the Dunmuir Ave exit off of I-5, and the parking lot is right there! If you are traveling southbound, take the exit, turn right immediately twice, and the parking lot is right there on your right. Park your car, and walk down for less than 10 minutes, and you will see the fall! If you see many cars parked, you might need to wait a while to take pictures from behind the fall.
A smaller but a beautiful fall!

A Great Water Fall that has a short hike to see it !!!
Just a 6 min. hike and your there enjoying the cool water and a great view of the Falls you can even go behind the falls it's said Black Bart camped here before one of his holed ups.
Stay on the main Trail when you get to the Bench there is a short cut here don't use it it takes longer to get down to the trail below then just walking a little longer on the main Trail.

Enjoy !!!!

Really nice waterfall that you can walk behind. There is a short trail starting from a small park right at the north-side freeway ramp for Dunsmuir (just up from Cedar Lodge). This hike is short on a well groomed trail, but has some altitude change. You can continue the hike down to the river for some more nice views. For the geologists, look at the rocks at the waterfall (and near the river) and you notice some nice columnar basalt.

Just off the freeway and an easy hike down through the forest, you come upon this delightful waterfall in front of a womb-like cavern. You can stand behind the waterfall and be sprayed by the water, cooling you down on a hot day. Red, iron-laden soil has been used to leave handprints on the rocks. Looking up there are tall columns of hexagonal basalt stone which when touched, make you feel this is a place where heaven & earth meet. Following the path beyond the waterfall, there is a vista point overlooking the Sacramento River. One warning: don't stray from the path, there is poison oak everywhere.
