Fountain Valley is getting some new and very cool little gems, some are hidden in a few of the strip malls around town and Rollin' Creamery is one of those gems.
Recently opened, this little ice creamery is serving up something different, unique and utterly delicious.
Walking in the door, you will find menu's on clipboards, then step up to the counter and order. You will have choices like Matcha's-N-Creme, Coconut, Cookie Butter, Andes Mint Chocolate Chip, Black Sesame, Sea Salt Caramel and more. The Ice Cream master's will pour a cup of pure liquid cream on the cold top. At this point you may be thinking Coldstone, but it's not and so much better! They will chop, mix and then spread the cream in a thin square and let it harden. Once it has hardened to ice cream, they take their spatulas and roll the ice cream into cylinder's, filling the cup with rolls of ice cream and then topping it off with goodness.
On this visit, I had the Sea Salt Caramel. The Sea Salt Caramel cream was poured, pretzels chopped and mixed in. Once in the bowl it was topped with whipped cream, caramel syrup and pretzels.
Taking my first bite, I am transported to ice cream heaven. The cream is so rich and flavorful, the pretzels added a nice crunch and I savored every bite, wanting to lick the cup clean.
Each ice cream cup is $6 each, which I think is reasonable. They also serve drinks such as cold brew green thai tea, thai tea, cold Jasmine milk tea, matcha latte and a strawberry lemonade.
The inside of the eatery is modern, industrial and has large tables for a group. Located in a strip mall, you will find plenty of parking.
