Booked a table for a post wedding dinner as we have eaten Sunday lunch here on many occasions and never disappointed.
Three ate soup for starter and I ordered black pudding with pork rissoles. I don’t think you can go far wrong with soup but the rissoles were extremely salty, I didn’t complain to avoid upsetting the meal.
Main course was monkfish which was massively over cooked, two burgers which were more than dry with bread which was solid. I ordered slow braised beef which was very tasty but it had a glaze which was pure melted marmite which almost burned the roof of my mouth and was inedible. The old adage says you either love marmite or hate it and I love it but not melted over a beautiful piece of beef.
At this point it it was impossible not to complain, the drinks were not charged but it certainly spoiled the occasion.
Time is a great healer but won’t be back soon. Never mind.

Lovely place to see with lots to see round and about whether on foot or by car. Staff friendly and helpful food delicious. The room was small but adequate for our stay. The bed was very comfortable. There was guest wifi but we didn't use it so don't know if it was free or not. The bar was a lively place used by locals with plenty of atmosphere. We took two small dogs who enjoyed the stay. These were allowed in the bar area but not the restaurant. If you wished to dine in the bar area you could.

Room Tip: Our room was only small but adequate for our stay it was at the back of the pub so quiet.

Visited here for Sunday lunch with friends that live in the area. Enjoyed an excellent roast lunch, two of us had the roast lamb with seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding etc, one of us had the roast beef which was served just how he likes it (pink) and the fourth member of our party is vegetarian so had the twice cooked cheese souffle with salad and chips. Three of us then followed this with the dark chocolate tart with mango sorbet and one of us had the apple and vanilla crumble with custard. We were all very happy with our meals and the staff were friendly and efficient.

We were made to feel welcome through a personal touch. The room was comfortable and clean, if a little small; delicious dinner; extensive range of beer and malt whisky in the bar. Location idea for the Lakes and Scotland.

We visited the George and Dragon on the recommendation of friends who were staying there. We had a wonderful evening; the service was good, waiting staff friendly and efficient, but the sat of the evening was the food. Two of our party had the chatteaubriand which I sampled and melted in the mouth, and I had the bass which I didn't shathink re with anyone! Will be returning.
