this is a tortilleria which also sells nachos, burritos, tamales, tamale boats (tamale smothered in chile Colorado or chile verde) masa for tamales and a few other items. Small family run business that has been around since the 60's and still just as good

If you live in Indio, then you know how awesome this spot is. If you are visiting, or traveling through, then you HAVE to stop. If you look the wrong way, you will drive right by it. It is a tiny little spot. When you walk in, the fragrance is amazing, and you know you are at a dynamite place. Grab a tamale boat, or just a small bag of chips with their famous salsa……..Forget about it! Any of their food is delicious, but they are most famous for their chips and salsa. Almost every birthday, wedding, bbq, quincanera, and family event in town has to get Arriola's chips.
Nothing fancy, just good, traditional, Mexican food from a family business that has been around for generations. If you are looking to make tamales from scratch, then they have the masa already prepared and ready to go. Their home made tortillas are so good too!

Small store front on a side street. Food is worth the search. The chips, salsa and cheese sauces are excellent. You can buy in large quantities for large parties Other items are available, but these are the only ones I have tried--many times over the years!

I haven't had a meal here in some time but we never have a party without buying an extra large bag of their chunky, salty, perfectly fried tortilla chips and a bucket of their excellent salsa. If you're looking for a snack, buy a paper sack of chips, dump the salsa in the bag, give it a shake and enjoy! Absolutely authentic. Try their tamales. We NEVER stand in line for the very expensive, usually awful tamales at Indio's annual tamale festival. There is only one line to stand in and that one is an hour long. We just go to Arriola's a day or two ahead and relax at home with a blender of Margarita's. That's the way we do it!
