This campground is very rustic. I believe that it has seen it's better years. We used the campground for a stopping spot to go see the redwoods. It is 20 miles to the nearest town of any size. it is not on the water or does not have any fishing. We did have cell service but there was not any cable and wifi did not work except by the office. We would not stay there again.

Its all about what matters to you in a campsite. When we (13 adults mostly in our 60s) first arrived, I was a bit disappointed as it wasn't as pretty as some campsites. But the people who run it are great...totally friendly, helpful, warm, playful and always greet with a smile. So I would go back. Its not one of those big fancy campsites, but its adequate and we were happy there.
Since its not an upscale campground, if there is something you really count on at a campground, be sure to ask before you go.
Saturday nights are special: they have a big barbecue on the deck, with salmon, chicken, salad and vegies, and fun music by very good local musicians.
There is only one bathroom for the men, and one (double) for the women, but they were cleaned each day, and almost never a wait since its a small campground. I had one challenging shower (alternating hot and cold) and one good warm shower.
Its an easy walk or drive (1.3mi) to the nearby beach where you can watch the seals and fisherman catch salmon where the Klamath River runs into the ocean. Occasional porpoise, sea lion, osprey, and of course seagulls. There are plenty of great hikes in the redwoods close by and some of them are downright awesome!
In the pre-dawn hours, we were serenaded by a chorus of coyote.
Some of us had phone service (sprint and verizon) and wifi and some didn't, depending on service provider. I wanted to use my ipad and couldnt (AT&T) but I had a better time without it.

We thought this was a really cool place! It's got a nice country vibe with a large garden, chickens, a goat and a huge open space for kids to play, including a play structure. There is wifi - it might not be the fastest wifi you've ever experienced, but it's pretty awesome when you consider the fact that there is no cell service (you're in the woods in Norcal, this is to be expected). There is also a small store, showers, and on Saturday nights during the summer there is a salmon and chicken BBQ with live music. The BBQ sells out so you have to be sure and sign up for that in advance. The music is great and there were lots of people dancing, eating and having a great time socializing. If you're coming to the area to do some salmon fishing and/or if you have kids, this is a perfect spot.
We did notice that the sites on one side of the campground are close together, but that's camping - you've got to be ready to make some new friends! When we asked about a more private site, the owner was very accommodating and put us on the other side of the campground where the sites are a bit more primitive, but also more secluded like we wanted. When we had any needs or questions, the staff were all very helpful and definitely friendly.
Another upside to Kamp Klamath is its proximity to the river. The mouth of the Klamath can be reached by driving just up the road a couple miles. And it's a beautiful drive through the redwoods to get there!

On the plus side, lots of kids and a haven for children. WiFi was present but so slow it was almost useless - proximity to redwood forests and beaches was excellent. Unpaved roads through the campground were well tended. A nice salmon or chicken dinner with some of the best live music EVER provided by a silver fox with a silver voice and an extraordinary famous sax player (you will have to go there to find out who!). Old growth alders canopy the campground, the bathrooms were not well tended though, I think the owner needs more help - plus the owner needs to wake up and deal with trash and recycling like we live in the modern times and not in the 1920's. A big trash dump into the land lies at the end of the road where an appliance and other junk were discarded into the earth. Additionally, it was downright painful to drop compost, tin, plastic and trash all into one bin! Water was more than potable right out of the faucets - as in live pure water, very nourishing. We were a group of 14 mature folks who would definitely consider going back here if they would treat the environment better by dealing with their recycling, trash and compost scene. Showers were a challenge though, one had to keep a sense of humor and hit the shower at the right time as they were either suddenly scalding, freezing or dribbling depending on other water use. Two bathroom stalls for the women and one for the men for the whole campground were not enough, and word is, black mold was growing in the men's side of the bathrooms. Two "Honey buckets" could be smelled at 20 paces and were avoidable. An additional bathroom and a recycling and compost program would make this place absolutely first class - as it is - we will look for somewhere else next year.

Feeling deceived by the website to this place. Broken down vehicles everywhere, no cable TV, no fishing anywhere. Dive. Skip it. Fire pits are rusty truck wheels. Didn't stick around for the dinner. Ownership kept our first night's deposit and argued they required a ten day cancellation to refund the balance of our three night stay. This is a dump.
