Description: George's at the Cove is a renowned three-level dining destination located in the heart of La Jolla overlooking the Pacific Ocean and northern coastline. We offer three distinct restaurant and bar concepts – one fine dining and two casual – with stunning ocean views and award-winning cuisine. Known for its splendid rooftop setting, the popular George’s Ocean Terrace – complete with a newly expanded and elevated bar – offers casual al fresco fare for lunch and dinner that is perfectly complemented by sweeping ocean views. Recently reinvented from floor to ceiling, the all-new George’s Level2 – located on the second level – is elevating the craft of cocktails with housemade ingredients and handcut ice. Featuring all the classics and innovative modern creations, like the signature Sea3, Level2 offers a variety of cocktails well-suited to any taste. On the lower level, George's California Modern is a contemporary fine dining restaurant and bar featuring seasonally-driven California cuisine. Guests are invited to explore “San Diego on a plate” through a la carte or tasting menus inspired by the lifestyle, ingredients and sense of place that is San Diego. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to enjoy the San Diego lifestyle to its fullest, George’s at the Cove is an essential part of any visit to the region.

Just had lunch. Sangria was awesome. First time I had albacore tuna grilled and it was great. Service friendly, busy and bustling.

George’s at the Cove is listed on Fodor’s San Diego travel guide so we decided to check it out. We got there around 2:00pm and it was pretty busy. It took a while to order our food but once we did it took 50 minutes for us to get our meals. We understand the place is super popular, but we weren’t pleased, especially since what we ordered (salads, tacos, salsa and chips) don’t take a long time to prepare. The manager assured us he understood our frustrations regarding the slow kitchen and gave us a break on the bill which was very nice of him. The food was really just average. There is amazing Mexican food all over Southern California for a fraction of the price, but not all of those places offer the breathtaking view of George’s. I recommend going to George’s for drinks and snacks just for the views.

We went to George's for lunch. We sat on the second floor. The restaurant had a fantastic view of La Jolla. Great vibes and great beer. I had the Cemita chicken sandwich for lunch. It was fantastic. I highly recommend it.

I made a reservation on Open Table, based on reviews both there and here on TA. Apparently my reservation was for the fine dining, lower level dining room which was fine, but we thought we were going to be outside. The menu was ‘fine dining’ and quite good; however there were only 2 fish entrees.....we found that odd in a restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean! I would return for a drink on the top level. probably not to the upscale lower level. Service was superb.....not stuffy & very friendly.
