“Good course but that is all”

The Golf Club at La Quinta
Reviewed 25 June 2016

We lived on this golf course. The owner does not take care of the surrounding land and wanted the HOA to do this. He also raises the rates significantly every year. The course is nice but it is not worth the money to play when there are other better courses for the same money or less

We found a great deal online for unlimited play with lunch included so we took advantage of it. The staff was great as was the lunch but the course was drab and monotonous, not ideal to play more than once. If you find a deal and you're more interested in quantity over quality, or if you're a novice player not looking for a challenge, this is your course.

What a pleasant suprise -- bought 2 passes on Underpar at a discounted rate that included unlimited golf for a day plus breakfast or lunch plus a drink (either alcoholic or soft) plus range. The course was wide and relatively forgiving, in great shape & the greens excellent -- hard, fast & run true. My wife REALLY appreciated the truly shorter womens' tees -- it doesn't happen often. The real clincher was the staff!! Got there and had just parked when a very pleasant young staff person materialized with a power cart, loaded our clubs and offered us the cart right there. As we wanted to walk to the clubhouse, he then took the cart for us. Not even a hint that he was looking for a tip -- VERY refreshing! The two staff at the pro shop were just as genuine and friendly and offered us the available choices -- we chose to have our lunch DELIVERED out on the course and took up the offer to tee off earlier as it wasn't too busy. Little differences so often make a huge differences and every staff member we encountered were such a pleasure. We golf a lot in the Palm Springs area and today without question was the best golf experience we have had this year -- !

I was recently staying at the La Quinta resort for a work conference. Some co workers and I went to play golf at the mountain course. It was very slow going. Seemed like so many dads had their kids out on the course to teach them how to play. So this slowed us down and we didn't get to finish our round before it got dark. I think next year we will try a new course.

Surrounded by home & mountains the course is in great shape and fun to play. The 18 hole course is challenging but not difficult and fun to play. Even for a beginner it is a gentle forgiving course and enjoyed playing it.
