La Casita Nueva Mexican Grill

Having lived in Guadalajara for some time I know good Mexican food when I find it. There are a lot of these places in the Coachella Valley and rightly so. But La Casita in La Quinta is my favorite. The service is quick and attentive. We always get the 'house' margarita blended, it's really good. They are not stingy with chips or salsa which I found to be the best. You won't be disappointed with any of the food items on the menu but try the fajitas either vegetarian or meat. How good can re-fried beans get? Well pretty darn good especially with a little melted cheese on top. Some nights they have a singer and there is an early bird menu as well. You'll like it but you'll have to look for it. It's in the Stater Brother's shopping center on the North side of Hwy 111 next to Hobby Lobby. You'll like the chips/great salsa and house margarita to start. Bien venidos!!!!

We went here with a friend who lives locally and goes a lot - we can see why. Our friend gave us the tip to order from the sides menu as we were all looking for a very light lunch. What a great tip - don't know why we haven't tried this before as we find the rice and beans element of Mexican food overwhelming and usually leave most as it's too much at lunchtime. This was great food - I had an enchilada with guacamole and pico do gallo - $5.50. Great value and great food!

We have been to La Casita three times, and each time was enjoyable. The restaurant offers the typical Mexican fare, and does it quite well. The fish tacos are fresh and tasty, chimichangas are excellent, and fajitas are exceptional. Come for happy hour between 3-6pm and enjoy the specials of the day.

Went there with a friend for lunch. I had #12 combo from lunch special menu. Tamale, Chile relleno, and taco. Tamale was surprisedly good. I didn't care for the chile relleno since wasn't that good and had to ask for haberno sauce to wake up the flavor. The meat in taco was very flavorful. The salsa that was served with tortilla chips was pretty good.
