Some lovely and interesting things but I was hoping that it would be a bit bigger and the restaurant is no longer there. However, I enjoyed what they had on exhibit there and would recommend. Takes less than an hour. Some other restaurants are near by.

The Craft and Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) is a somewhat hidden treasure in the museum district of LA, right across the street from the La Brea Tar Pits and the Page Museum and only a couple of blocks from LACMA (the LA County Museum of Art). Great new shows just opened a couple of weeks ago.

See what your contemporaries are crafting at a friendly venue across Wilshire Blvd from LACMA and the La Brea Tar pits. Art from various mediums with changing exhibits several times a year. They also have a variety of hands-on art-making for young and old - check their website for details.

As an admirer of all things folk art, I looked forward to visiting the museum when in Los Angeles and was disappointed. There are only two gallery spaces and the exhibits were sparse. Great gift shop but that wasn't what I came for.

Often our alternative to behemoth LACMA, CAFAM is a more manageable size and always seems to have 2 incredibly interesting exhibits. Often good with curious kids too. Nifty gift shop too.
