A Gyro is a pita bread, topped with onions, a protein and roasted on a split and the Malaka Brother have got Vegan Gyros down to perfection. The hip vibe of Venice has long been an attraction to the vegan community and food vendors in the area are cashing in on the plant-based demand.

They have a 100% vegan falafel-filled Gyro with fresh salad, ask the server at the counter to substitute the meat with Falafel and be prepared to wait while they make it fresh.

Visited this place a few days ago while visiting the beach. I tried the Falafel wrap and the lamb Gyro. Aswel as the Garlic fries.

Service/staff: 4/5. The young lady serving was very friendly and welcoming and explained the menu and gave recommendations.

Food 4/5: Extremely fresh ingredients, you just can tell that the ingredients were fresh right off the bat, flavour was great, maybe needed some more Tahini sauce in my falafel wrap, and the lamb gyro pleasantly meaty. The bread/wrap they serve it on is some of the best bread/wrap I have had! If your a fan of garlic, you MUST try the garlic fries! Awesome.

Seating 2/5: not the greatest seating, but it's a takeaway shop rather than a restaurant so it is what it is.

We stopped along the Venice boardwalk to grab a bite at Malaka. The sign says it's the best food on the boardwalk. I strongly disagree. The girl in the window who took the order was nice. The falafel was not good. Tasted like it came from a mix bought in a supermarket. There was barely any falafel in the pita. Mostly lettuce. The fries were very extremely salty.

We stopped here while roaming around the boardwalk for a bite to eat. Both of us got the falafel gyros and we shared an order of Greek Fries. Both were very tasty! The fries were so good...and had feta cheese on them. Yum! The gyros were a good size and had plenty of falafels in them...sometimes places like to skimp on the falafel. And the guy working there that took our order was very friendly. I'd definitely get food here again.

I was a little disappointed after reading the glowing reviews here. Size of our lamb gyros was below average (in fact it looked like a gyros cut in half) and not an adequate meal by itself. Tastes decent, but certainly nothing to write home about. Staff was really friendly but I probably wouldn't bother going back.
