I stayed in the Suite at the Sanborn Guest House for three nights (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) in June '08 while I visited my daughter and son-in-law who live nearby. The on-site owners were very accommodating and welcoming. The suite was spacious & charming. It included a sitting room, bedroom, and private bathroom. It shared an equipped kitchen with the other guest room. The bed was very comfortable, the closet space was spacious with shelves & hangers, and the shower was good. Amenities included cable television, wireless internet, radio/tape player, in-room refrigerator, alarm clock, hair dryer, and secure off-street parking. During my stay, I heard almost no "house" noise from either the other guests or the owners. I heard some traffic noise, especially from diesel shuttle buses passing nearby (after all, it is in the city!). This House is within easy walking distance - 2 blocks - of a business district (Sunset Junction) with interesting shops and cafes. Overall, this facility is an excellent value in an eclectic neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Sanborn House is a quaint, charming b&b in a quaint, charming and hilly Los Angeles neighborhood. The b&b is spotless and very private, but the host is warm and watches out for you. Sunset Blvd. has lots to offer if you're not averse to walking a bit. There are several restaurants on Sunset that are worth a try and by being able to walk you can enjoy some drinks. The neighborhood is populated by an eclectic mix of people. Some would describe the neighborhood's vibe as hip, but all are welcome. The private, gated parking is a very valuable amenity in this car-crazed city. If you're doing some independent travel and don't require an enormous bathroom, this b&b is highly recommended.

Compared to hotel rates in L..A. this place was a great find. We stayed in the suite, which had plenty of room for two. The kitchen was nice to have available. The rooms were cleaned regularly. The TV was fairly small, but it worked. The yard and garden were cozy. The gated parking area was also nice to have. The neighborhood was OK. The hosts were very cordial. We'd recommend this place to our friends.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Sanborn House. 2 nights in the guest suite and 1 night in the guest room.
A pleasant surprise to find that the rooms actually looked like the pictures on the website. They were spotlessly clean.
We especially enjoyed our stay in the guest suite as it felt like a real home from home.
The owners were extremely helpful to all of our needs and we would definitely recommend this guest house and hope to stay again when we next visit Los Angeles.

This is a lovely little house conveniently located just off Sunset Blv. and only a short ride to the tourist sites. The neighborhood is nice, a lot of small family houses surrounded by nicely kept gardens. The house is run by two caretakers who have kindly provided us with useful information about how to get around, including a map.

We stayed for 3 nights and we were 2 couples, so we had 2 rooms and 2 bathroooms, a joint kitchen and living room. The house is beautifully decorated, with light, simple and elegant furniture, including a lot of books. Everything was very clean and we felt good returning to the place after spending the day outside.

This choice is a great value for money and a nice alternative to boring, uniform hotels. Highly recommended.
