Book direct Stephanie is the best.
Crying I walked to the counter, she totally turned my day around. Greeted with a smile and help from her with check in, whale watching and other info.
Best ever

We were referred to this hotel by the Monterey Visitors Center, who by the way were very helpful! My room is located on the third floor which was very nice because it was quiet and we had a great view. The room was a little bit warm for quite a while and we had open up the windows in the door to let air flow through as there is no central air. This is a little inconvenient sent we got in around 10:30pm at night and had to leave the front door open. Otherwise, The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. The people at the front office were very nice and the breakfast was a nice touch, not to mention that check out time is not until noon. All in all, this is a great place to stay! I would definitely go back again!

Hello Julie and Tom, thank you for staying with us. The Visitor Center is sending a lot of people to our hotel and now you know why. For all the reasons you experienced. Glad you enjoyed that extra hour to check out. Now that you now where we are, we are looking forward to see you again on your next trip. Give us a call when you do.

Stayed here 1 night but too expensive. . got the 3rd floor with very large windows overlooking trees, kind of felt like we were in a tree cabin because of the layout and big windows. Beds extremely comfortable and bath very clean. For breakfast you take your tray at reception and fill up with staples. You can eat outside if a table is free, otherwise it's back to your room.. Not a great setup. Wifi was non existent for most of the time which was a problem as we needed to plan the following day..

I stayed at the Colton Inn in May 2016 as a family/friends weekend trip to hang out and enjoy the purple flowers. Colton Inn is walking distance to Monterey's attractions and eateries. The walk back to the Inn can be quite dark, so I would not recommend walking back too late if you are with children.

Although dated, the rooms are large and comfortable. Our room was on the top floor with a small deck overlooking a stream in the back. Guests can enjoy their breakfast in the communal area outside, however I brought the free breakfast on the deck.

I plan to stay here again if the price is within my budget. I booked directly with the Inn since their website provided a better deal for the room.

In historic downtown district. Just 10 min walk to Fishermans Wharf and about 30 min walk to Aquarium. Free parking. Nice room with pretty comfortable bed and clean. Our private balcony was above a babbling brook with seagulls heard in the distance.
Nice and quiet area. Property is not fancy but well maintained and staff very helpful. Would stay there again when we return.
