This tiny restaurant has such an intimate, romantic setting with only about 12 tables, big billowy linen curtains frame the booths and the entire back of the restaurant is open to the bay and tiny dock outside. There are crystal rock fires, upscale table linens, 5 star service, great wine list and a different menu daily. It's pricey and you are unlikely to run into the prom kids on their night out in this casually elegant out of the way place with mostly locals on any given night.

It was our first night in Newport Beach after arriving from Indianapolis. We were very hungry at 5:30pm. It was easy to book on trip advisor. The reviews were accurate. The food was really delicious. The ambiance was relaxed, romantic, and very nicely appointed.

The wine choices were quite good. The veal chop was very tasty and perfectly cooked. My wife had halibut that was beautifully plated. She loved it. The sourdough rolls were very warm with a coarse salt that worked well with the tomato basil soup....extremely good on a cool night. We are going back tonight with two other couples. I highly recommend The Dock. We eat out at least two nights every week. The Dock is a top tier dining experience.

Romantic ambience, attentive and caring service and an interesting and deliciously-prepared menu offering made our recent visit to The Dock a memorable and very recommendable experience!

My wife started with a Crab & Avocado appetizer while I tried the Compressed Melon ( bursts, prosciutto and melon)--both were delicious.

For entrees, I had the Maine Diver Scallops and my wife had the Spiced NZ Lamb Rack--each was outstanding.

The management actually surprised us by choosing a dessert for us, a chocolate treat with vanilla ice cream. Happily special.

Watching a parade of boats--small to very large--sail by added to our evening's enjoyment.

We don't get to spend a lot of time in this area, but when we next do, we'll be sure to return to this new found gem.

Try it, you'll be sure to enjoy it, but book your reservations early.

In street parking is difficult to find for Sunday brunch but we managed. Metered parking is quite affordable at just a few dollars for 2-hours (the max).

The pre-fix menu for brunch has delicious options. A bit overpriced because there's an extra charge for drinks like coffee, juice, Bloody Mary drinks…

The yogurt is good but sugary. The French toast was soggy but otherwise beautiful presentation. The compressed melon course is refreshing even though the carpaccio was too dry. The omelette was good, nothing special - just egg with some sausage topping.

The seating area was well decorated and with comfortable rattan chairs. We asked if the restaurant could turn off the heater but was told that the dining area (exposed to outdoors) is just warm due to the covering on the patio. A slight breeze made it bearable. Cannot imagine how hot it must be when it's warmer than 71° outside.

The service was friendly and efficient. Very much appreciated. Lots of dining options in the area. Nice to check out The Dock.

We go to The Dock to celebrate family milestones. It's on the water with a great view of the bay. The food is always excellent and so is the service. I can't wait until we go back again!
