“Spectacular Road around ocean point”

Pacific Grove Oceanview Boulevard
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 16 November 2017 via mobile

This road runs along coast from cannery row Monterey down toward pacific grove. Beautiful with a walkway that run along if you wanna take a short hike . Then ends at gate to take 17 mile drive toward Carmel along coastline but be warned at gate there is a charge of 10.50 to drive through. Check out point pinos lighthouse in pacific grove for a short tour inside. Views from upper area is awesome.

Excellent walking and biking path along the coast to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, and to Asilomar Beach and the Lighthouse. This is the best way to see marine life like sea otters, seals, marine birds, and even whales!

While staying for a few days near the lighthouse, we had many opportunities to travel this road. Many places to pull off and either look from the car, or park and walk around.

We walked along this beach early in the morning and saw a bunch of dolphins playing in the waves. We even got to see one jump completely out of the water. Off in the distance was a whale blowing water sky high. What a beautiful location to watch God's creation.

Oceanview Blvd. is very enjoyable by itself or in combination with the 17 Mile Drive and other scenic oceanfront roads. The drive includes samples of Pacific Grove's eclectic architecture, surf crashing on the rocks, the lighthouse, and the Irish-links like PG golf course. Extend (or start) the drive by including the Asilomar beach. As a Monterey Peninsula resident, I do the drive at least once a month and it's always on the grand tour route for visitors.
