“The creme of brulee”

This is a small, simple Mexican restaurant hidden away behind a Mail Bag in a small mall. It may be unpretentious but the food isn't, and the house margarita is a steal at $5. The menu is good, and the portions large and far better tasting than the chain restaurants.
The big surprise is in the dessert menu. The creme brulee is the stand-out. The rich custard base is light and creamy and the caramel top is just right, crisp but not too thick. I have had the same dessert in many top class restaurants but none have achieved the same perfection. And it wasn't a once off, as I had eaten there 18 months ago and the quality was the same.
Well done to a small family-run cafe, which gets its name from the home town in Mexico which the owner left many years ago for Palm Springs.

This is a nice place. If I have not reviewed it before my bad. When a place becomes like going into my kitchen; does one review that which is as familiar? Good food. $5.00 margaritas. Not fancy. Not stunning decor. Good well prepared food. Good price. Good taste. Good people

Yes, as other reviewers have said, its an eye sore, you wouldn't think that it was going to be the tree that it was though!
Food was PERFECT. Had the Shrimp Enchiladas(I didn't know what i was getting myself into) they were the BEST I have ever had! Fiancé has the shrimp tostadas, and she loved it, although it did need some more lemon.
We also had the Chabela Guadalajara, Big goblet of a drink with Modelo and chile. So tasty with the Jumbo Shrimp! Such a great time, Nice environment and very friendly staff!

This cafe is a bit rough, dated, and visually unattractive, but the food is good and the staff helpful. Will do again.
