Very nice deco. Food is good and well presented. Prices are correct. Large variety of tapas to share (that's the option we took). Waiters are attentive to you needs.
Located on the main strip across from the Apple Store.

Joya is a mid-range to upscale restaurant offering South American and Spanish cuisine specializing in Tapas. Perfect place to chill after work or on the weekend. Overall, good service and a variety of delicious food. I would recommend.

We had reservations and were seated within a couple of minutes of arriving. Parking can be a big deal as always in the vicinity of University avenue so allow atleast 15-20 mins. We were seated next to their huge BBQ pit on which a whole pig was being slowly roasted. The food was good and tasty. I would suggest the chickpea and corn croquetas, crab cakes and tuna tartare for appetizer. I had the chipotle chicken tostadas which was quite good. They also serve Kobe beef mini-burgers. For dessert we tried their home made icecream trio of three flavors which was wiped off the table in less than a minute!!

In classic downtown Palo Alto, I sat alone on the sidewalk seating. Food was great. Had to wait a little for a 2nd beer. Overall great experience.

I'm not an expert in all South American cuisine, but the dishes here were very reminiscent of what we tasted at the best restaurant in Peru.

The gazpacho was the best and presentation was beautiful. Both pulled pork and vegetarian empanadas. The pork was spicy and juicy. Vegetarian had lots of mushrooms.

Bit of a mixed review here.
The location is great, super people watching and the world going by, the service was very good also couldn't be faulted and the wine was also excellent. Unfortunately the food wasn't to match. We had the bravas to start and my wife said she was lactose intolerant. We were told they were fine but when we had them we had to ask again (as they were so good) how they where cooked and we then were told in butter - I don't want to complain to much but I will just say to avoid the 'paella' - having been to Spain and had real paella I can say this was not that. We barely touched it and to be fair they did take it from the bill for us without us even saying.
