“The perfect place for the family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2012

Our family gathered to visit the wine region of Paso Robles. We had 4 rooms out on the other side of the pool, all in a row! I think it was the perfect arrangement, we could sit at the pool in the morning with coffee and enjoy the lovely gardens, and when we returned in the evening the tables at the pool were perfect for wine tasting and appetizers. We had breakfast every morning in the main restaurant, they have a big long table that was perfect, good food, and a really fun staff. The bar upstairs is very nice with local wines and a barrel of unfiltered Tobin James Ballistic that served as the house wine. The rooms were rustic, the beds comfy, nothing fancy but just right, very quite. We will deffinatly stay here again. We visited the Farmers Market across the street one morning, we had some wonderful dinners within walking distance.

We stayed here for a long weekend trip back in January 2012. The hotel is pretty much like an Inn where you can expect to drive your car and park outside infront of your room. This makes the whole experience like a motel or Inn, more convenient and less walking to do which is helpful if you bring a lot of luggages with you.

From the time of checkin, everything was super nice, and the place looks exceptionally clean from the hotel lobby to your own room. The room we stayed in looks more like a big suite with huge room space and the bathroom looks marvelous with nice color tiles to match the overall room feel which is somewhere between a modern and victorian style if you know what I mean. The TV is ultra flat screen LCD, and the beds and nightstands are all hip and stylish. The vintage fireplace look, and the victorian style bathroom and the carpets make our room stay very interesting and exciting to say the least; it's never boring to stay here for as long as you want.

The cool thing is if you plan a short trip and don't go out as much at nights, you can spend all your time inside the room. The awesome spring hot tub is what makes this stay very unique and relaxing, and best of all, worth every penny. You can to use the hot tub anytime and any duration you want and during cold winter nights, having the hot tub on your balcony, you get to enjoy the cold breeze air on your face while relaxing in the hot tub, so very detoxicating and enjoyable. Bring some wine or some champagne and spend your time with your girlfriend or wife here.

Room Tip: Get the room downstairs, the private room balcony is much bigger and better in terms of views. Plus...

The place is old but kept updated for the most part. The rooms are small and smell faintly of "old house" but the water pressure in the showers was heavenly and the bed was new and very comfortable. We arrived on a Thursday and had the place mostly to ourselves but by Friday night it was packed (in February!!) so the thin walls became a bit more of an issue- nothing that was too obnoxious though.
There is no gym or fitness area other then the pool so that was disapointing, but the area lends itself to running if you felt so inclined. Bring your own hairdyer though as theirs leaves something to be desired.
The mineral hot tub was the perfect way to relax after an amazing dinner ($$$) at their steakhouse. The tub is big enough for two or three couples without being awkward or close quartered.
Notice: they use actual hot springs to heat the pools so the whole place does kind of smell of sulfur from time to time. They do a nice job of trying to cover or get rid of it, but it is still there.

Room Tip: Rooms near pool are good for easy access (when it is cold) but noisy due to children

Stay here for any downtown event. Great restaurant. Really good steaks. Place is old so expect that level of accomodation. Ammenities of the room are lacking. Noisy if your room is near the front of the hotel grounds due to the main street in front.

Room Tip: Stay as far back on the property as possible.

We had not stayed in Paso Robles before, however, this time we were intent on doing some serious tasting, so the location of the Inn was perfect...central to most of the wineries, but close to everything in town, such as restaurants etc. In fact we walked to dinner all three nights we were there. The room was small, but had everything required, including a fireplace. The only criticism I have is that our room was positioned close to the pool and hot tubs, and the first night we were there, two couples enjoying the hot tub made sleeping very difficult. I would avoid this next time by asking for a room far from that particular location. We plan to stay there again when tasting in Paso Robles.

Room Tip: Ask for one far from the pool and hot tub.
