Fantastic roadside stop for delicious oysters! Two lovely young ladies behind the counter took our order and commenced shucking. In no time we we in oyster heaven. Served with a variety of condiments like Tabasco and cocktail sauce but the best was their red wine mignonette! It was terrific.

Whether you buy them to take home, or to eat there, the oysters are fresh and plentiful. If the grills fired up outside, you can get them barbecued (pick a style or choose from an array of sauces available at the grill). Seating inside is limited - picnic tables and Adirondack chairs in the lot next door suffice nicely on a sunny day. The 'medium' oysters are almost too large to eat whole.- but a great value.

Sorry to say this was a big disappointment, having had such great BBQ oysters at other places. You place your order inside, then go outside to picnic tables. So far so good. We ordered some sparkling wine - but the only glasses on offer were the large (12 oz) plastic beer cups. A place offering wine should at least offer some smaller plastic glasses (or even real glass?!). There's a BBQ grilling station outside too, and they call you when your order is ready. Not sure why they couldn't walk the plates over. We ordered a dozen raw, these were fine. And 2 different kinds on the BBQ, with garlic etc. and they were very overcooked but not sizzling. We now keep on driving when we pass the place. A shame, there's a lot of room for improvement at Bodega Oyster Company. Location and outside area is good and could be a really great place with some attention to detail.

Years ago, we used to go to Hog Island Oysters. Then they got popular and started charging people ridiculous amount of money per person to shuck your own oysters at their picnic tables and you have to valet park your car. We then started going to Tamales Bay Oyster Company which is a little farther down but even better w nice grounds and yummy oysters. Well, they got shut down by the county last October and now is open four days a week for pickup only.

Bodega Bay Oyster Co is now our go-to oyster place!!! The only thing missing is the view of the coast; it's not as cold and windy because of that. They have a nice selection of oysters and clams. They offer a nice combo package w a few variety / sizes of oysters. You can buy them shucked too!!! They have a nice picnic area out back w a number of picnic tables surrounded by some tall shady pine trees. Nice little gift shop w quality oyster related items. Our friend picked up a cast iron oyster grill that fits a dozen oysters!

All in all, Bodega Bay Oyster Company is awesome and it's going to be our oyster place to go to from this point on!!
