Staying round the corner from Urban plates in pleasant hill hyatt we visited about 3 times. Once sit in and twice for takeaway. The food was fresh and tasted lovely. Potatoes and grilled chicken were a bit salty but that is only gripe! Nice fresh food made to order and it tasted great. Not sure the staff understood the Scottish accents as some confusion on first visit but we got there. Portions were pretty good and enjoyed all the meals very much. Will look forward to visiting again on our next trip to the states.

This restaurant is based on cafeteria style; you select your food as you move your tray along. At the salad section the salads are made for you as you select the ingredients. Entrees include steak, seafood, and chicken and each entrée includes two sides. The wild-caught albacore tuna was delicious. Sandwiches and stews are also available. The bakery section includes a number of baked-from-scratch items. I especially liked the chocolate peanut butter pretzel crunch cake. There is also a selection of wine and beer. Seating is at tables inside or there is an outdoor seating area that is covered by a roof. Street parking may be difficult but there is a parking garage and lots nearby. The restaurant is just down the street from the Pleasant Hill cinema and is a good bet for before or after the movie.

Love the quickness ordering and quality of food. Our other favorite Pasta Pomadoro closed after the New Owners brought in the “Bean Counter’ accountants and drove out the customers...
Urban Plates has a nice meat selection, chicken, fish and red meats. All are juicy and cooked perfectly. Great lighter meals and salads. The checkout/payment line always seems slow. Wines are inflated in price somewhat... but I give it 4 out of 5
