Originally, we (a couple) wanted to visit Fresh Choice/California Fresh in San Leandro but found it permanently closed. After a quick search for similar type of restaurants on Google, we found that Sweet Tomatoes might be a good substitution for Fresh Choice and gave it a go.
The prices in Sweet Tomatoes were higher than what Fresh Choice used to have. Instead of 12 dollars per person in Fresh Choice, we paid 16 dollars per person for all you can eat, drinks and taxes in Sweet Tomatoes.
The salad bar was perfect and had all sorts of fresh vegetables that used to be on plantation 24 hours ago if to believe signs in the restaurant.
The part of the restaurant with less healthy options (that we believe everyone comes for) like mac and cheese, pizzas, stuffed potatoes, tacos and tons of sweets were also good especially blueberry muffins that had surreal taste.
The interior was fine except from some torn seats and minor dirt that was caused by running kids.
In general, we were satisfied with food and service provided by Sweet Tomatoes and consider it as a good option for those who miss Fresh Choice even that the last one was slightly better for our taste.
