Travel to Pleasanton once a month and there are some very good restaurants in town. Was by myself and didn’t want a fancy meal or fast food. Hadn’t been to a Sweet Tomatoes in years. Walking distance from hotel which was great. Walked in and the place was packed for a Wednesday night. All of the vegetables were fresh and as usual out too much on my plate. They had 6 varieties of soup, pizza, breads and soft serve ice cream. For $12.95 all in how can you go wrong.

This restaurant was not what I expected...it is a buffet. Actually several lines for food. The first was for salads starting with three already prepared different green and a typical salad bar with LOTS the fixings. My favorite was the broccoli salad. There is a separate line for soup, pasta, and breads, then other stations for desserts, fruit, and soft serve ice cream.

We were not very hungry and thought we were just going in for a salad and soup. It was VERY busy at 6 p.m. on a Sunday night. Staff was friendly and efficient. Tables turned over pretty quickly.

Arrived at 11:00 AM when the restaurant opened and found everything offered in abundance and very fresh. The soups and freshly made breads and rolls were wonderful. They were flavorful and moist. The staff tending the salad bar and register were polite and attentive. If you are looking for a fresh salad and a variety of other tasty offering, this is a good choice. I always enjoy a soft serve ice cream for desert when eating here. The dining room is a bit worn and in need of a remodel but overall a good place to enjoy a meal.

This had a large range of salads and soup dishes mainly targeted at vegetarians. The concept works but could in my view be expanded to include falafel, hummus and halloumi. Nonetheless it is very good. It has desserts too.
