I am basing this hotel review on the fact that we stayed here for three weeks while waiting for the sale of our house to close.

We needed a hotel during which we could still have our cat.

There was breakfast every morning and the staff was nice. The indoor pool was fine, sometimes it was so foggy that you couldn't see in it at all-- as in a girl dropped her goggles and no one could find them for a long time. Kind of creepy.

The only issue that we had was the cleaning schedule, or maybe just the communication of the schedule. When our room was cleaned the sheets were rarely changed and it was clear that stuff wasn't wiped down. I cleaned our kitchen, toilet and bathroom to keep the space under control.

Overall this place served its purpose and allowed our cat to stay with us. I would recommend for people with pets that need a place to stay longish term.

We stayed here for 6 nights for a sports tournament. We booked the 2 bedroom suite. Like other reviewers are saying, the rooms are in desperate need of a renovation. The carpet is worn and falling apart; the door handles are sticky/dirty; the bathrooms aren't the cleanest. The chairs are soiled and worn and have rips in them; the tables are older and are all scratched up. I know the property is older because the rooms still have those popcorn ceilings. There was no water at all for nearly an entire afternoon because the water heater had broken. Things happen as a property ages, and maintenance is required, and sometimes that means inconveniencing others.

But the hotel served its purpose, which was to let us stay in close proximity to the sports venue. This Residence Inn conveniently located and easy to get to. The staff is nice; we never could find the ice machine but we would ask the front desk and they would get the ice from their machine in the back office somewhere. They greeted us with a smile every morning. And as long as you don't go to breakfast when the masses are also trying to get their breakfast, all is good.

Would I stay here again? Probably not. But for the price, and for the number of people in our room (6), and the ability to have 2 separate bedrooms with its own bathrooms and a kitchen and full refrigerator, it's not a bad deal. I would have had to rent 2 rooms anywhere else to stay in Roseville and that would have substantially increased my hotel costs. So just be aware of what you're booking. If you want a very clean room that has been updated and has all of the latest amenities, this is probably not the property for you.

We were very disappointed with my recent stay at Residence inn Roseville Room #117. We were in town for a softball tournament and stayed a week. I was quite embarrassed since we shared the 2 bedroom with another parent and their child and we told her how impressed we were with Marriott property. The carpets were torn (parts of the carpet were missing in our bedroom and also dirty (we had a baby with us who had very dirty knees from crawling on the floor), the bedroom doors didn't latch properly and one of the doors had a gash in it. Our bathroom smelled wet and moldy the entire time. I found an earring in the bed we slept in which didn't belong to any of us and the other bedroom had mascara stains on the pillowcases. When we complained and asked to be moved we were told they would try and move us in a few days since they were full. They also offered us 15,000 bonus points. We never received those extra points nor did we ever hear back from your staff on moving rooms. Our entire team stayed at a Hilton property and we insisted that Residence inn would be better. We were extremely disappointed. Additionally, each morning we would attend the free breakfast they were always out of something whether it be coffee, eggs etc. We heard many complaints and there was no sense of urgency to refill anything. We also only received maid service once during our stay. We ran out of toilet tissue a few different times and also coffee since we had to make our own since they were out in the breakfast area. This was not the quality we have come to expect from Marriott needless to say very unhappy customer and Marriott member, maybe it is time to become Hilton Honors members.

There are many good things to say about this Residence Inn. The Staff is wonderful, location is great, local Dinning very good. The only problem is it's old and needs some help. Not that it's dirty just worn and dated. An example is our A/C unit went out. The Staff had us moved to a new room immediately. I would return again, but an update would be nice.

So here's the scoop. This is a great location. Plenty of dining options, shopping, recreation, entertainment near by. Freeway access close by as well. No complaints about the staff, friendly and helpful But unfortunately the inn is in SERIOUS need of updating and deep cleaning. We had a 2 bedroom suite, stayed over a week, the buffet breakfast is a bit better than typical. Beds were quite comfortable, slept great. Pool was great, spa was fine, I prefer a tad warmer but probably fine for most. It is a pet friendly hotel, almost too pet friendly, heard dogs barking several times and don't like them in the dining area. The mixers are a plus and typical of Residence Inns. I would recommend this place, even though it needs some TLC, we did enjoy our stay. I hope Marriott will make an effort to update soon as I am sure it makes it more difficult for the staff to provide good customer service.
