We were looking for an affordable fun place to stay while traveling through Sacramento. The only complaint I had was that parking was not included so you had to pay an extra $22 for valet parking. That being said, it was totally worth it. We go out of the car in front of the hotel, and they brought it back to us the next morning. My husband forgot his wallet in the car and it was still there the next morning. Back to the hotel, the rooms were smallish but it is an authentic paddle boat. The bar was crowded and noisy so we had our drinks out on the quieter side of the deck, then went out and walked around Old Sacramento and checked out the shops. We weren't really too hungry so we opted to just go back to the boat and just have appetizers and another drink. The crab cakes were very good. Breakfast was included provided you ate what they chose off the menu. I don't really like breakfast food, but for breakfast it was good enough and we enjoyed the view through the window. All in all a nice cruise without having to leave the dock

No not THAT Elvis, it was the happy, accommodating hotel manager
Elvis. When I had contacted him a couple months prior to book a room he had promised me a good one and he came through. He gave us room 524, a top floor riverside cabin with a nice view of the nearby bridges and passing boats. You have to understand that these are cabins and not hotel rooms so they are slightly smaller but you do have the entire deck outside of your cabin on which to lounge. The riverside of the boat is west facing and it was quite a hot day. Once the sun began to set and it cooled down a bit it was really nice to sit on the deck with a drink and enjoy the sunset over the river. We found our cabin to be quite clean and containing all the necessary appliances. The only downside was having to leave our car with a valet and paying the $22.00 overnight fee. While waiting for our room to be readied we ate lunch in the onboard restaurant which I sadly can't recommend. I ordered a simple shrimp cesar salad and my sidekick Cookielee chose a cheeseburger. The shrimp on my salad were totally tasteless and Cookies burger dry and once again without seasonings. Very difficult to mess up a burger or salad .The total cost was about $40.00. The location of the DK is great for exploring Historic Sacramento and close to the freeway. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel. We would like to thank Elvis, now we're heading north to continue our road trip, next stop Mt. Shasta.

Room Tip: Riverside only

We had a business meeting at Sacremento and we went to this place to have Lunch. This is a hotel with restaurant facilities on a Big Boat anchored at the s
River bank. I do not say it's wow but it's okay.Sceneries are outstanding more romantic. Food pricey, Service very late, But the stewards are with a smile.

Fun for one night! If you like history or a stay that is a bit unique, then you'll enjoy a night on the charming Delta King. The rooms were fine for a remodeled old riverboat. The breakfast was enjoyable. One night is plenty to get the flavor of this experience.

Room Tip: Water view is good, but seeing Old Sacramento on the other side of the boat is fun, too.

What a great, historical riverboat of a restaurant! Everything about our experience was wonderful. The food: great! The view: spectacular! The service: divine! My 7 year old grandson loved it too. Loved it!
