wow... I spend a lot of money here and at other Starbucks. Tuesday last (8:00am): a customer wanted to see a manager about a complaint. He announced his frustration; he was even-keeled and kept his voice and tone appropriate. Within 30 seconds, the short, rotund, female (dyed reddish hair?) accused him of making a scene. She did not appreciate his having a different take on the complaint than she did. She was unprofessional and did not address the customers needs..... meanwhile (back at the same Starbucks, a week earlier), I watched a customer take a water bottle w/o paying for it from the display in front of the register and walk back to her table. I let the manager (tall, skinny, male) know of the incident. He thanked me and proceeded to do nothing about it. Now the latter scenario may be Starbucks policy but.... At any rate, the managers are in need of training there. 10% of the folks appear to hate their jobs, the rest are fine. Does Starbucks train employees to smile at all?... Train them that the customer is their paycheck walking in through the door? I guess the good news is that the bottled water is free there. Come on in and grab a bottle and take a seat.

This is a busy but clean and friendly place to enjoy your favorite drink. Big and small tables and good WiFi. They have an outside area with a privacy wall that has tables and chairs.

Disappointed and very let down. I come here every morning and very happy with staff overall in the an. However, took a friend in the afternoon and explained that it was my favorite Starbucks. However, not today. A situation was managed very poorly my the manager and staff. They didn't admit their fault. I've worked for Starbucks and been going for the last 15 years. This by far was my worst experience. Starting with a terrible manager. I called cooperate and informed them of my horrible experience.

If you are a Starbucks fan, then this should be your choice in Santa Barbara. Staff is always on their toes, friendly and accommodating.
