The wife and I booked a room at this hotel. The wife later called to inquire about whether it'd be possible to cancel and get a refund. The manager informed her that since it was after the cancellation window this would not be possible. The wife then said "Ok" and ended the call. The wife specifically did *not* say to cancel the reservation as we had already decided before the call that if we had to pay for the room then we might as well go. We showed up later that night to check in and was informed by the desk person that the manager had cancelled our reservation and rented the room out to somebody else and they were full. The desk person called the manager who refused to give us a refund or to give us a future night in exchange and hung up on the desk person. The wife then called the manager directly the next morning and was put on hold, hung up on and generally treated in a rude and uncompromising manner. It's understandable that the manager might have misunderstood the wife's intention during the original call the day before, but after repeated discussions with her it's completely unreasonable to maintain her position that we had cancelled the room. Clearly we did not.

This hotel is a great value for the area and it is clean. The ladies at the front desk were very efficiency, kind and responsive to my needs. It's mostly a business traveler hotel, so people will be busy during the waking hours - no big deal. Thank you, Stratford!

Throw back to the old motel 6 with Wi Fi. Price worked in an overpriced market. Fridge, microwave, in room coffee and tea, and continental breakfast wth waffle maker. Room was clean and front desk very accommodating.

We stayed here one night because our kids were having a baby at Kaiser Permenente. It was about a 5 minute drive to the hospital, which was great. The reservation person was very accommodating on the phone and even changed the reservation when we had to delay our arrival by one day.
Pros: The staff was awesome- very friendly and helpful. The room and linens were very clean. The shower was large and the water pressure was great. There was plenty of hot water. We liked the clean solid surface floors- no nasty carpet! We liked the fact that there was a refrigerator and microwave and a coffeemaker in the room. They were also very clean. The coffeemaker made 2 cups at a time and we had one bag of regular and one bag of decaf coffee. There is also free wi-fi that worked great. The large screen tv had a good variety of channels and worked perfectly.
The cons: The hotel is very run down and very dated. The furniture was nicked and scratched and squeaky. The air conditioner/heater was horrible. It sounded like our washing machine on high spin all night until I got up and turned it off. We decided to freeze instead of deal with the horrible noise. The bed has seen better days and was very uncomfortable. The pillows were flat pancakes- even when I asked for a couple more pillows, they were also very flat. The scariest part was the door- the hotel is right on El Camino Real and there is only a flimsy wooden door between you and the parking lot on El Camino Real. We saw the police drive through the parking lot several times and there were some sketchy characters hanging around all night. We did not feel very safe. The continental breakfast was also a big let down. There was no coffee in the coffeemaker and only one bagel when I went to the room to get breakfast. There were apples and oranges, cereal with skim milk (bleah) fresh made self serve waffles and orange juice or lemonade from a dispenser. Oh, and 4 pieces of dried out wheat and white bread for toast. I had toast and an apple for breakfast.
We paid $91.00 for this room. I thought it was way overpriced, but apparently, compared to many other places in Santa Clara, this was cheap.
Again, the staff was nice and the place was clean, but we probably won't stay here again.

Hello Dear Michele

I am sorry that your experience was not 100% satisfactory but we strive to make everyone as satisfied as possible. The price point of the hotel is considered excellent for the product we offer such as hardwood floors, plantation shutters, new bedding and 42" flat panel tv's, along with Xfinity Cable with all the high demand channels. I hope you can try us out again and let us show you how much we care. Thank you for your comments, we really appreciate and learn from them all.

I really enjoyed the fact the rooms have a microwave and fridge . Breakfast was a plus and I enjoyed the friendly staff who made me feel welcome. My room was nicely updated with hardwood floors and nice comfy bed definitely will be back . Very convenient location with lots of dining selection. All around great choice to lodge.
