Fresh local Monterey Bay fish in a casual atmosphere on the Santa Cruz wharf. More seating upstairs with weekday happy hour eats and drink specials. Our go to place for casual dining, good IPA and the freshest local fish. Booths, tables. The real deal.

The view is great and some of the food is super. I love the chioppino, the clam chowder, the shrimp salads, most of the specials, and the grilled fish. However the fried items are a little heavy with the batter and the cooking fat. Service staff is great, drinks good. The food upstairs is a bargain but the service is slow- have another drink and it will be ok.

Stagnaro Bros has our favorite seafood on the wharf and anywhere else for that matter on our trip to Santa Cruz. Their cioppino is delicious. The seafood in it is so fresh, varied and delicious. The tomato base is a bit thicker than many places I’ve had cioppino in San Francisco but I enjoyed it being a hearty meal. The highlight of the dish was definitely the fresh crab, which was just amazing. My wife ate a shrimp rigatoni that she loved. Even their salad was delicious. Oh and make sure you get anything with cocktail sauce. It was the best cocktail sauce I’ve ever had and it comes with a dollop of horseradish so you control the kick. The restaurant is very casual and aesthetic is a little dated, but that just seems to be part of the charm of Santa Cruz.

The service and the view were wonderful The food was hot and cold with our group. daily specials can be a good deal but I was very disappointed with the seafood combination basket (one shrimp, one oyster, one scallop with a couple small pieces of fish/calamari. The ton of fries jsut doesnt make up for the lack of seafood, the cole slaw was flat and the chocolate dessert could use some help. Prices were tourist prices - so some plusses and some misses

Wonderful, relaxed happy hour, with a beautiful view of the Bay and the sunset. Appetizers are huge (and all priced at $9.99), and we also had the Monday Cioppino special --a very large bowl, filled with fresh seafood, at $11.95 (probably one of the best deals I've ever seen). Less impressed by the lobster roll.
