My friends and I stopped here for dinner. We had Samosas for appetizers and they were delicious. We had the Chicken Dinner Combination with our choice of entrees. I had the Vindaloo Chicken (very tasty), my friends had the Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka. No complaints from anyone. Of course we had to wash the food down with large bottles of Taj Mahal beer. When in the area, I will come back for some really tasty Indian food.

There are lots of restaurants that have Indian food but few that do it really well and on a consistent basis. These guys are the real deal. So far everything we have had on the menu is great but here's a suggestion: they always have a few specials made with food bought locally from the fresh market; these are always worth a try. It's mid-priced, meaning that it's not fast food, nor will it break the bank--just priced appropriately. Another suggestion....they have an outdoor patio....great on a warm evening. It feels like you are dining in a private garden. This is not a large restaurant and there is a "mom and pop" feel about it, where everyone seems to care to make sure you have a great dining experience. We have been back many times and we're never disappointed.

The word “dhaba” refers to a highway restaurant in India with the suggestion of hearty, tasty, unpretentious food. This establishment in pretty, cool, Santa Monica, only a couple of blocks from the ocean, cleverly borrows the moniker with a wink and a nod, and lives up to it, handsomely. I’ve visited a handful of times over the years, and the food is consistently wholesome, best described as homey, North Indian cuisine. While the menu is varied, I’ve often had the traditional vegetarian “thali” (plate) that offers an assortment of vegetables and curries with rice and flatbread. I’ve always left satisfied and with a smile on my face.

Fancied a curry and converge at the hotel sent us here . We felt rushed as it was a Sunday evening . Menu very small not much choice . Pakoras and samosas were OK . Plates were cold and food not hot enough when it came to the table . My husband had the chicken vindaloo and I had the chicken curry which was not as hot we would have liked and the meat was all brown meat and it seemed slightly undercooked a disappointing experience
