This hotel has a comfortable feel with Well appointed with period furniture from the area.
They had a safe place to store our bicycles. Check in was easy even though we arrived there early.
Breakfast was minimal but got us going.

We enjoyed this quaint little place. I love that the staircase is the original staircase. They have done some modernization, but did not lose the antique flavor of this Inn.
The only negative was that there was not good air flow and without the A/C on it got stuffy.

It is only about a block away from Main Street where all the happenings are.

We were lucky enough to be there on the first Friday of the month. The car show was about four blocks long. Sweet retro cars all cherries out.

Pre-booked this hotel and arrived before the 3:00pm check in time! No problem, the chamber maid checked us in and showed us to our room. Saw no one else from the staff the whole two nights we were there and checked out by leaving the key in reception!! Very laid back and relaxing, the room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was limited to cereal, toast and coffee but what there was was very good. My only criticism was the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room. The town is very quiet and seems to close at 3:00pm but there are a couple of good bars close by. The surrounding area is beautiful with mountains both sides but still quite close to major freeways and cities.

Room tip: Room 8 or any on that side of the building.

The good news is that the bed was firm and the bedding newer. Other than that, book a reservation and don't just show up. We never saw anyone in the office and got our key from the housekeeper. After calling the number on the office door and getting a recording my husband heard the housekeeper upstairs and got her attention. She called and spoke to someone and then got us a key. If you are staying there, turn into the parking lot BEFORE you pass the building. The next parking lot is the library. As for the free breakfast, it isn't available until after 8 a.m. We are early risers so brought our own coffee maker, but didn't realize we weren't going to get our 'free breakfast' which is the only reason we chose this hotel over the other one of this style. It is a very old hotel, so expected an old hotel smell and brought our own portable air purifier which helped. But there was hair on the floor in the bathroom when we arrived and when we left. The doors are filthy. The tub is narrow and difficult to stand in when taking a shower. There was an overhead light/fan of which two of the three bulbs were burnt out and the fan only had two speeds - off and barely turning. Really, the only good thing about this stay was the bed. Definitely not worth the price we had to pay. We will drive into Ventura if we have to go back to the area.

Room tip: Really think about how big 250 sq ft is before booking. VERY small. We couldn't pass each other anywhere in the room.
