Checked in and the entire property is simply beautiful (whoever thought to have the bistro in the Courtyard - Genius!)
Conveniently the rooms were vinyl flooring instead of carpet (more beach hotels should adapt this. again - genius!)
Location was amazing. Beach front was a short 2 minute walk behind the hotel, surrounded by scenic beach views. We woke up and jogged to the restaurant for brunch, and it was only a short drive to Torrey Pines Hiking trails.
Overall everything was amazing. We will be staying here again when we're back in the area. Superb!!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the backside of the hotel are closer to the Parking garage's elevator & towards the beach.

I stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed my stay. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and comfortable. I particularly liked the large flat screen television and the small sofa from which to watch it. The beach is a short walk away, as is the Cedros shopping District. Overall, very nice.

My sister and I drove down Pacific Coast Highway to Solana Beach this time. This is our third visit and we always stay at this hotel because it is absolutely perfect in every way! We had a beautiful room on the first floor overlooking the pool and spa. Beds are comfy and bathroom is great. There is a coffee maker, a microwave, and a refrigerator in the room. We got food at the Farmers Market on Sunday and used the microwave and refrigerator for that. There is a restful welcoming lobby with computers to check things. The Belly Up Bar in downtown Solana Beach is a famous venue for top notch performers, and you have to go online to get the tickets, so it is very convenient to have that right there for you. We also checked the menus for restaurants in the area, and did a google map to find our way to them. By the way, ALL the restaurants on the main drag are FABULOUS. Breakfast at Lockwood Cafe is just a short walk from the hotel. We sat in the warm California sun on the patio and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The shops in Solana Beach are exquisite. No chains, all family or entrepreneur-owned. Lots of artists, craftspeople, designers and gardeners. Just browsing was so much fun for my sister and I! There is a deli in a little shopping area next to the hotel for wine and snacks. Public beach access is right out the back of the hotel. Follow Del Mar Shores Road down 1 block to the Del Mar Shores Apartments. There is a sidewalk to the right of the Del Mar Shores sign that allows the public to access the beach down a long walk and stairway. California law requires these public access entrances, so don't be afraid that you are trespassing on private property. Surfers are often out on the waves, even in the winter. The best surprise for us was the Del Mar Dog Beach to the south (left) after you go down the stairway. We loved watching the dogs and their owners throw balls with the dogs in the water, fetching and playing without a leash. We found shells after the tide had gone down. I found two intact sand dollars. WOW. The beach is clean and serves the community well. There are cliffs, so you have to go down the stairs to get there, however, in the main part of town, there is a ramp down to the beach, with a cute little park with picnic tables, a clean bathroom and a playground for the kids. Don't miss the charming walkway down to the beach with the names of community members/donors cleverly interspersed with shells and hand made ceramic tiles. So lovingly and thoughtfully created! We enjoyed Naked Cafe, Lockwood Table Cafe, and Tony Jacals for Mexican food. The Sunday Farmers Market has lots of clothing bargains and food that you can store in your room. Booths we visited were Birdbath Treats for lotions and potions and delicious chocolate from Gourmet Mediterranean.
All I can say is make your reservation and GO!

Room Tip: First floor room 114 is perfect. Sunshine comes in the room in the morning.

This hotel has a great location in Solana Beach. There are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance -- Italian next door, Thai to the south, and others to the north. The hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. The pool area can be loud in warmer weather, but the great location of this hotel makes it worth a stay. Definitely recommend.

We stayed here on a team trip and I was so impressed with all the nearby amenities. Walking distance or short Uber rides to great restaurants. The hotel staff was so helpful. They made great excellent recommendations every day that we were there. They were all so courteous and helpful. The rooms were very clean and neat. We were there in January and we had the best time at the outdoor fireplace while I the kids enjoyed the heated pool. Great stay! Beautiful beaches.
