The room was spacious, clean quiet and enjoyable...I will definitely be back, 5 stars! The staff at the desk very helpful with restaurant recommendations, and responsive to requests. Nice wine hour and breakfast! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Only wish there were blackout curtains where the bed is, because the blinds let in lot of light. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

I've stayed here a couple times over the last two years. Never got around to writing a review, but this place is amazing. I love coming to Solvang to get away and just relax. These little cottages are really cool and super comfortable. The bathrooms are really nice and have large showers, and the bedrooms are really unique. Little step-downs or step-ups in the room add a lot of character. Location is great as well. It's towards the back of the little Danish town, which I like because it's really quiet. I'll be back for sure.

We just returned from a two night stay in the Wine Valley Inn. Once again it was terrific! The staff is always so friendly and helpful, this was our sixth stay. Solvang and the surrounding area is in full spring color. Warm days cool nights...so relaxing. Oh by the way, the breakfast was yummy and included some of that famous local pastry.

Room Tip: Ask for a Tower room, always a treat!

This hotel is a great middle ground when visiting Solvang. We've stayed here a couple times when traveling as a couple as well as booking a block for groups. Its not one of the more modern, more expensive places, but its also not a super cheesy "motel-style" hotel either. It has charm in that each room is different, the layout of the place is unique (let them know if you cant do stairs), many have fireplaces. Provides all of the basics (wifi, parking, etc. . .) and also a nice place to come back to after a day out at the wineries or tasting rooms.
Location-wise, its right in the center of town, walkable to everything. They provide a decent breakfast in the morning (if you dont want to wait an hour for a table at Paula's Pancakes!), and there's a cute little wine tasting "happy hour" as well. Be sure to ask for any tasting room coupons they have when you check in!

This place has pretentions of being more than it is. It is really a pretty standard motel, in my opinion, in spite of it's airs of being a "wine country inn". Don't be fooled by the pictures on the website. The furniture in our room was well past it's "use by" date - miss matched and beaten up. The layout of our room was downright weird. The gas fireplace and TV (which sat on top of it) were in an alcove that didn't face the bed or even a chair. The only thing sitting on the wall across from it was the safe with some wine bottles for sale sitting on it. The place was clean enough but not sparkling. Points off in the bathroom too. The oversized pedestal sink may have looked good on paper but it left no place to put one's stuff. The venetian blinds let in a fair amount of light from the outdoor lighting. The staff was competent. Breakfast was the standard coffee, OJ, apples, bananas, cereal and instant oatmeal plus scrambled eggs made from cartons of prepared eggs, sausage and hash brown patties one would find at a Quality Inn.

Room Tip: If you need total black to sleep, don't choose room 211. Lights in the courtyard beam through the slats of the blinds all night.
