As two couples we were doing a 5 week fly drive around the west US and had 3 nights for Sonoma. The hotels and B and Bs are so expensive that we looked for something else, found this, and it looked great on paper, at $450 a night for the upstairs apartment, compared to $7-800+ a night for 2 B&B or hotel rooms!!

When we arrived, we were blown away by the size and quality of the apartment. It is about 50 yards away from the main square, it is really good sized in general, with a huge baloney, equipped with everything that you would expect from a boutique hotel plus the kitchen, which was fully stocked with pots/pans etc, and the store cupboard has every oil, spice etc you could want. Big fridge, dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer too plus washing machine and dishwasher tablets.

They also provided a wine passport that gave free or 2 for 1 deals at loads of wineries, which was a real bargain.

We ended up eating on the balcony 2 of the 3 nights as it made a great change from eating out again.

I would stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Pay the bit extra for upstairs if you can, but some regular visitors were downstairs and seemed very happy too.

Spacious and clean the ground floor apartment comfortably sleeps four with two separate bathrooms, both of which have two sinks which is a great advantage. But the noise, oh my gosh, the noise. We stayed in the downstairs unit with two bedrooms, one directly underneath the upstairs patio and the other directly underneath a top floor bedroom. Given that this is a very old building of wood frame construction it transmits every step/sound/laugh/conversation through the ceiling into the bedrooms. Wax earplugs help a bit but all in all it makes a great location and very comfortable unit unlivable if sleeping while on vacation is important to you. The instructions in each unit ask that noise be kept to a minimum between 10pm and 8am but also admit that the wood frame construction makes noise easily transmittable between the three units.

Jeff - I'm sorry that you endured noise from another suite. Next time, if there is one, PLEASE let us know about any problems as soon as possible. We can resolve most problems quickly, so you can enjoy the rest of your stay. In this case, I would have been happy to call the neighboring guests and ask them to quiet down.

We spent the week of Christmas at Auberge Sonoma and it couldn't have been better. The unit was perfect for 2 couples where each couple had a Master Suite. Very walkable for exploring the Sonoma Plaza, tasting rooms, shops, restaurants.
If we had questions or an issue a reply from the owner or manager was just a Text away and it was a FAST solution.

They even had a few Christmas decorations to create a special ambience for the Season. If you go, check out the Sonoma Market, a wonderful grocery. Specialty store that made the Whole Foods across the street seem like a poor choice and we Love Whole Foods.

This apartment has everything we needed. Super clean. Fully stocked. We used it as our base of wine tasting in the Napa and Sonoma valleys. It was perfect. Great central location, easy walk to fun downtown of Sonoma, quiet stay, convenient parking in rear. Just right. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed in the penthouse. Very quiet. Downstairs units seemed perfect too.

Wonderful quiet location on the edge of town square. Pick the north suite if you can because it faces the street. It’s nice to have a glass of wine and watch the people walk by. Very well maintained and very clean. Couldn't be happier!
