When we arrived the check-in was easy and the receptionist pleasant. Our room was large (mini suite) and the first impression was good. Then we realized - no shampoo and the usual toiletries. The trek from the room to reception was mega. Having got these we found that the bath had not been cleaned and there were long dark hairs in the bath. Then we decided to make coffee. The machine did not work and it took 25 minutes to get a replacement which must have come from the store of old machines as it barely worked (20 minutes to make a cup) and was clogged up.
There was a huge flat screen TV but there was no in room channel guide and as it was DirectTV no Weather Channel (a traveler's must).
The parking area was hectic but the spaces were tight. Most of the vehicles were oversize (trucks etc.).

Hello, JoleneMH...

Great to have you wth us on your recent visit from Tucson, AZ.

First, please know we do apologize that housekeeping let us down. We've addressed this issue and it should not happen again. We did give you a very nice discount for your inconvenience to show our concern and care for your business.

As for the TV Guide, we have a channel dedicated to times and programs, including the Weather Channel. There is a Guide-Button on each remote that allows a guest to instantly access our robust cable channel offering.

Not sure where you parked. We have huge parking spaces that can, and often do, accommodate RV's, 5-Wheel Trailers and Semi-Trucks. Whenever there is an issue, a call to our front desk will allow us to quickly respond.

We hope you'll try us again next time you travel our way. Peace be yours until we see you again. :-)

On our way to the Redwoods again, still in the mountains, found a very nice place in Susanville, a lot of things to see there. Found the Last Ale works on main street for some brews and a nice meal. A nice town before we head back into the mountains.

Room Tip: Some rooms face highway, backside would be better, all in all, noice was minimal

We were headed south on a road trip, and were looking for a decent place to spend the night; the Red Lion Inn & Suites, didn't let us down. The room was clean and comfortable and fairly quiet; just what you need after a long drive. The hotel is conveniently located near fast food restaurants and grocery stores.

Breakfast was fairly basic, but there were enough choices to fill the hole in our stomachs.

The only real problem we had was when we returned to our room after breakfast and the key reader no longer accepted our card. We had to go back to the office twice to get a key that worked. I suspect the sensor is on its way out. This, however, did not take away from our pleasant overnight stay.

We would happily stay here again, should we be back in the area.

No frills hotel. No elevator, no safety latch on door. Didn't get much sleep even though I tucked a bath towel under the door for safety. Poor breakfast with the attendant shutting down breakfast at 8:59 a.m. (supposed to be 9:00) and turned away 9 guests from 9:01 to 9:08. This was a holiday... the food was still out, but he insisted breakfast was closed.. Waste of food.

Plus side: good location, clean, nice beds, quiet with free parking. Front desk clerk was friendly, but not to concerned that our room didn't have a safety latch.

Hey, rita...

Inasmuch as there is not access to our hall corridors from the outside, in addition to security cameras and 24-hour security and front desk attendants, we've never had an issue with the security of any guest. Our keycards and solid lock assemblies are as good as can be had in the hotel industry. There is or was any worries. Sorry you felt otherwise.

As far as closing breakfast one-minute early, we agree with you and have addressed this with our staff to ensure it never happens again. Sorry for the disappointment and letting us know.
