Our stay at the Hollywood Cottages (the California) was a fun start to a long weekend in LA . Plenty of room to spread out with our sons ages 18 and 20, with a lovely and comfy king bed in the living room and a queen in the back bedroom. We were able to shimmy our rental car (a Mustang, tourists for sure) by backing into the parking pad out front. The location is excellent, between Sunset and Hollywood blvds. Only two negatives: weak water pressure in the shower and paper-thin walls -- tradeoffs for a vintage home.

Its challenging to find a good place to stay in Hollywood especially if you want a quiet apartment rather than a hotel room, but the Hollywood Cottages are it (as many others seem to be in very noisy areas with bars and event halls). We stayed in the enchanted cottage which was very nice and set back from the road so slightly more quiet which is what we really needed. Owners provided all the details we needed to get into the property late at night and do check you are ok.
Bathroom was good & kitchen / lounge area. The main bedroom was also nice. Kitchen has most appliances required due to jetlag we ate in the cottage on a few nights. There is also a washing machine/tumble dryer just next to the cottage. There is also a small 2nd lounge or could be used for childs bedroom. There is a patio area. Wifi is good so we could plan our days.
The location is great and we walked everywhere from the cottage, also has easy access to the metro or buses & there is a an international supermarket 5mins walk away (Trader Joes). There was parking if you had a car - but keep the car small.
You can walk to Griffith observatory / walk of fame (if you like walking a city) and just around the corner you can see the hollywood sign.

Room Tip: Enchanted cottage is set back from the road so a little more quiet

We loved every moment of our stay. It was a nice comfy place and quite! everything you need they have!! I will love to stay here again! The only problem was is the parking!! You need a small car to park thru the drive way it is a little tight so if you have big cars good luck but other than that nothing bad to say!
