The sushi is incredibly good. Always check the fresh board on the wall. The scallops are the best on the planet. His carpaccio is awesome. Atmosphere is fun. He always has something new and surprising. He used to be in Aspen, now he graces the down valley.

This restaurant in located in a store-front in a small shopping center that contains mostly other restaurants, bars, and a liquor store. The place is very small and shabby. I sometimes patronize such "hole in the wall" places and recommend them to others when the food is a particularly good value, but this place charges the same premium prices for Japanese style food as other restaurants in the area that are much nicer.

If you are going out for Sushi, unless this place is in your back yard, I would go to one of the high end places in Aspen.

First, let's start with the hours. The signs say it's open 7 days a week. Actually, unless you are the party that booked the place on any given Sunday night, it's not open.

Food - simply average. Not the worst and not the best.

Price - given that the food is simply average, I would say that $7 for a basic roll like a California or tuna is simply too mucn. Want a 4-5 oz. glass of hot tea? That will set you back $3 - really. Want something simple like a rainbow roll? It will set you back $16. Want to go with more than 4 people? Be prepared to meet the minimum per person of $35. Want to sit at the sushi bar (only has 2-4 seats)? Be prepared to meet the minimum of $35 per person.

Bottom line - for the money, I would rather eat at one of the good sushi places in downtown Aspen. I felt the food as average and simply too expensive for just average.
