I went here on a Friday night recently.
It was about 8pm and on arrival I felt a little uncomfortable at first as it was like walking into the front room of someone's home! It was full of locals who were actually very friendly and I ended up having a 5 minute conversation with a lovely guy!
Anyway, the pub itself, like I say, is what you would expect of a village pub BUT with incredibly tasty food!
I had the beef and ale pie which I simply cannot fault. It was huge!!! And a full proper pie encased in pastry, not these pastry lid things! It was packed full of meat and was just amazing! The chips and veg are brought out separately in a terrine and there was plenty of choice of veg. My friend had the surf & turf and he said it was beautiful also! I wish I'd taken a picture of our food!
Anyway, pleasantly surprised and I will definitely be returning!
