You must understand what you are going to the Schoolhouse for....pizza and wings and fun times in an old school house, old means old! Not built for a restaurant but for use as a school house teaching kiddos in the past. Yes they have beer and a small bar, everything is small in a schoolhouse from the past. You only have so much room for everything that it takes to make a restaurant function! They have 3 beers on tap which are always cold and tasty.

Service is good for a counter ordering restaurant, yes you must go to the counter for service either drinks or food. This place is a blast from the past, dollar bills stapled to the ceiling, everywhere there is a spot to put one. Free pool for entertainment besides the color of the locals who frequent the mountain and live in the surrounding area. It is a fun place as long as you leave your attitude out on the porch. Come in knowing that people have been ordering pizzas on the phone for hours before you sat down thinking it was fast food. You will wait for pizza or wings as the ovens are always FULL of pizzas and wings, they bake their wings and they are tasty. They run at capacity so expect a wait, if you don't like waiting then do what people in the know do, call it in before you go!! Eat there in a fun atmosphere as long as you have patience as it can get busy. They have a cook and a bartender so ordering at the bar is the only option. Take your time here, let your brain take a break and enjoy a cold one while talking to the friendly people here. I have always had good service here, come in with a smile and the right attitude and you will enjoy it.

The pizzas are very good and piping hot out of the oven. Lots of specialty pies or make up your own. The crust is very good, the Only crust that I eat or ever eaten! It takes some doing to make a good pizza at 10.000 feet in elevation. The crust edge is small, not like other pizza places that make a big edge to save on ingredients. The sauce is spot on and they use quality ingredients for toppings. My favorite is spicy italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms and green chiles, the best! I travel over 40 miles to come to this place, best in town or out of town. The baked wings are great, they take 30 minutes or longer depending on the oven load. When you have pizzas stuffed in every corner of the ovens there just isn't room to make things quicker so sit down, drink a libation and relax!!

Yes there is a cat in the building, so what! Most people have animals in their own house and this is no different. The ambiance reminds you of a college room full of stuff without rules. Quirky, fun, unusual items of all kinds stuck here and there. Some things are more adult in nature as this is a bar which opens late in the afternoon mostly enjoyed by adults who wish to have fun. It is a hangout, where people meet after working the mountain or nearby. They are all friendly so enjoy and say hello to whoever is sitting next to you.

Overall, you will have a good pizza with cold beers in an unusual environment that is unlike anything you have experienced before. It is fun!

We always try the local hangouts and we were pleased by our choice. The old schoolhouse is a converted one room schoolhouse into a cozy, 10 table restaurant. We originally sat ourselves at a corner booth but all the social scene was around the bar so we moved there. The staff is eclectic and so were the locals! They sell a lot of take out pizza so order a salad while waiting about 30 minutes for your huge delicious pizza to be ready. We really enjoyed the food.

Where the locals hang out after a hard day on the slopes or working. You're not going for comfortable seating but you will get great food at a reasonable price, amazing brews and most important, instant conversation with the kindest staff and customers.

Very, very casual atmosphere. Small amount of seating and lots of locals. Order by phone for take-out or order at the bar directly. No table service....but free pool table while you wait. The pizza is excellent and worth any wait. Try the Vinny or the Homecoming Queeen + Sausage.
