I grew up eating east coast Chinese food - it was a regular in the dinner meal rotation... since moving out to Colorado 25 years ago I had only found one or two other establishments that qualify as very good Chinese food. Sally’s kitchen is one of them and the top of the group in my humble opinion. Now let’s be clear - it is NOT a gorgeous setting, it’s part of a gas station - but there is seating for about 30 people in a non descriptive truck stop type dining room... but wait - don’t dismiss this place as the food is outstanding and the owners / workers are lovely to deal and there are some interesting twists and unique items on the limited menu. How about some avocado fried rice or salt and pepper shrimp? Both are outstanding dishes as are the spicy scallops... crazy you say for ordering a shrimp / scallop dish in this tiny establishment ? Then you are NOT a connoisseur of hole in the wall establishments nor adventurous ... the size and quality of the shrimp and scallop dishes are impressive and I don’t know how the price can be so affordable but it is and they are out of this world! Great flavor - amazing hot spicy dishes if you dig that sort of thing and many of the all time crowd pleasers like General Tao’s / sweet and sour etc... the chicken egg rolls and gyoza are also amazeballs. I wish the had a grill because I love asian spare ribs and would love that to be an option ... but for now I’ll enjoy what Sally is offering and look forward to a long friendship of delicious Asian food in Fort Collins!!!
