“Beautiful Candy Store at the Factory Where it's Made”

Russell Stover Chocolates
Ranked #1 of 2 Dessert in Montrose

This is the real deal - Russell Stover is made in right here in Montrose and the retail store sits in front of the factory. They even have a "seconds" outlet room in back and in addition to fine candies, you can even get an ice cream cone. Another plus - you can grab a bag and put your own assortment together, which is sold by the pound. If you're going through or visiting Montrose and like fine chocolate, do plan a stop here and treat yourself.

This place is a regular stop for our family.
The minute you walk through the front door you are tempted as the smell of fresh chocolate fills the air. You will be warmly greeted and given a sample piece of chocolate. The staff is ultra friendly and helpful. The store is very clean and well organized. The seasonal vignettes are beautifully done!
The best part is the "back room" where you can buy "seconds" and past holiday offerings at SUBSTANTIAL discounts. There is something for everyone.
They also have wonderful ice cream, homemade hot fudge, caramel (OMG), etc... Their root beer floats and really good, too.
They have tables to sit at both inside and out.
My personal favorite is a freshly made caramel apple, with or without nuts. Beyond yummy and super fresh! They will slice it up for you and put it back in the box upon request. They are very large and make wonderful hostess gifts, as they are nicely packaged as well.

I had bought chocolates here in the past. I therefore expected the business to be the same - a factory outlet of Russell Stover candies. When entering the store, one could see all the various boxes of candies mostly at 1/2 price or less.
That is not what I experienced this year. Lindt bought out the Russell Stover stores and changed their old way of doing business. Yes, there are reduced prices, but the variety of boxed chocolates are no more. There is now a chocolate counter to purchase individual chocolates similar to See Candy stores. The "back room" where the so-called bargains are located was just a jumble of boxes of candy mostly the same variety - pecan crumbles or some such thing. The candy is still good, just the business operation has changed and not for the better in my opinion.

Stopped for lunch and happen to see the Russell Stover store. Could not resist going in to check it all out. A large variety of candies and they even gave us a sample.
I purchased a chunk of the Raspberry Swirl, so very yummy.
This company has a long history dating back to the early 1900's and becoming one of the largest manufacturers of quality candies. Don't pass up getting some delicious chocolates to take home!!

Wife and I were amazed at the variety and amount of candy available. We purchased some individually wrapped chocolates for the grandkids (10 - 15 cents each) and a 3 lb box of assorted 'bloopers' for us at $13.
