Spent a very enjoyable Sunday evening at this place for a relatives birthday. Meal excellent, every member of staff friendly and attentive.

Breakfast also good on the Monday morning

Room was very clean, and comfy, and also very quiet.

Very happy to recommend this to anybody and wouldn't look anywhere else if visiting the area again. Prices very competitive!

Back at the Carrington Arms for the night in preparation for a theatre trip to Milton Keynes the next day. We booked two of the garden rooms but for some reason was moved - no real explanation; but as the rooms are well equiped and good value for money we didn't make any fuss.

The rooms are very modern, spotlessly clean and includes some nice touches to make the stay comfortable - brilliant mattress and pillows, crisp bed linen, high quality towels and a hairdryer. Drench shower is perfect - plenty of hot water - overall a very comfortable night.

We also ate in the restaurant that evening - see separate review under the restaurant for the Carrington Arms.

Breakfast was served in the restaurant - and the real tests re: the service (very good); the quality of ingredients (excellent) - but one thing we all agree on is the ability to cook a decent poached egg - perfection with firm exterior and runny centre.

Why stay in chains such as Premier Inn or the Hilton nearby when such quality and personal service is available. Highly recommended.

Four of us stayed at the Carringtom Arms following a theatre trip to Milton Keynes. We had two garden rooms over-looking the fields at the rear of the premises. The rooms were modern with a comfortable bed, and high quality bedding and towels. The bathroom was modern and included a drench shower. Spotlessly clean. Overall a very comfortable night.

We also ate in the restaurant (see separate review under the restaurant for the Carrington Arms)..

Breakfast was served in the dinning room where we enjoyed Eggs Benedict with black bacon and two full English breakfast again with the local black bacon, black pudding and a wonderful herby sausage again from a local supplier. Poached eggs all round and cooked perfectly, with firm exterior and runny centre.

Fantastic rooms, restaurant, food, value and service - free parking, reliable wifi - highly recommended and we have already re-booked for our trip to MK in June.

The rooms were modern with a comfortable bed, and high quality bedding and towels. The bathroom was modern and included a drench shower. Overall a very comfortable night.

We also ate in the restaurant where we had a table booked at 8:30, which we tried to bring forward but they were fully booked - but we arrived early to have a drink in the bar, where space is a little limited but the owner offered us a table which wasn't occupied or booked until later that evening - however a last minute cancellation (taken while we ordered drinks) meant we could take a table for dinner immediately.

Two of our starters were prawn cocktails, which had some tasty twists on this classic, it was deconstructed but included two grilled prawns and prawn popcorn; good dish. The other starter was pigeon - sourced locally as is all of the meat and vegetables.

For mains, we all decided to go for steak for which the chef invites you up to the meat counter to look at the cuts available, discuss the size of steak required, how it's cooked and sides to be served with the main course. We all went for the "bourbon marinated sirloin" a restaurant speciality, - three medium and one medium rare. All cooked as requested and served with good sides.

We took a break before desserts, but went with two of recommended puds; a raspberry parfait with white chocolate shard, candy floss and honeycomb; a banana and peanut butter Parfait, Caramelised Bananas, Peanut Mousse, Peanut Brittle, Peanut Crumb, Salted Caramel Sauce. The other two were the cheese board, which provided some interesting choices.

There is a great selection of wines on offer; we started with a bottle of Prosecco Brut, Nua which provided a light start to the evening, followed by a Spanish Ribera de Duero, Marques de Vannos 2011, which had a lovely bouquet and fruit and spicy taste with a vanilla edge. Finally we had an "Essensia" an Orange Muscat from the Quady Winery, California - just perfect.

Service was very efficient, pleasant with a good engagement by all staff and the owner.

We stay every now and then at this lovely place, always great food, always wonderfully clean rooms. It's beautifully maintained grounds.
The only small problem we have is the Manager is obviously a very busy man, we appreciate he works long hours, but he always looks like he needs a good shave or shower or sleep or a clothes iron or just all the aforementioned. When dealing with customers, he tends to wander off to deal with other customers in order to keep everybody happy. Its a hard balance. Overall, we would & will stay again. Just needs a tweek.
