Sunburst Condominiums
Reviewed 7 February 2009

We exchanged a timeshare week with RCI to book the Sunburst, I think we paid less than $200 for the week as a result. Being timeshare clients, we didn't have the highest expectations for the place (a 2BR 2Bath). The location was fine; not walkable to the slopes but the free bus service worked out great so no need. There was a dishwasher and washer/dryer which is great when skiing.

Some of the unit was updated (half of each bathroom); the rest was a bit out of date, but there was a fireplace, hot water and everything worked just fine.

If you book at Sunburst, you MUST go to Walmart and buy a bedroom humidifier for $24.00. Otherwise, you'll look forward to sunrise as and end to your nighttime misery--the place was so dry that without a humidifier you're asking for a cold/cough.

Ok place if you are out and about all day; not recommended for those who plan to spend the day inside.

We chose this property based solely on a good price, as the photos showed a somewhat outdated property. When we arrived, finding the office was confusing, as it is located at Thunder Mountain up the road. We were helped by friendly guests who happened to be outside.

When we entered our 2 bedroom/3 bath with loft unit, we were pleasantly surprised, as it had been recently renovated. We later found out by housekeeping (once weekly towel service is the norm) that all units had undergone this update. The kitchen was small, but well equipped and we made many meals during our week stay. There is free wireless available as well.

We were a short walk from the free busline, and close enough to bike trails to take family rides to the Botanic Garden. There was plenty of free parking onsite regardless of the time of day, at least during the summer visit. We had a lovely mountain view from the private deck, which we intend to revisit when covered with snow this winter!

In viewing the picture I can tell you our condo looked
exactly like that....mauve carpeting, green uncomfortable
furniture. One bedroom was too cold and the other too warm
and no decent way to adjust the temp. Bad beds and
a shower that barely worked. jAnd indoor hottub
took the fun out of hot tubbing. If you can stay somewhere
else, I recommend that. If you bought time share here,
I would say "why?".
