We stopped here for lunch on a dismal Tuesday in April. Well, the joint was jumping and rightly so. The friendliness of the staff to the quality of the food could not be bettered. A very good selection of wines by the glass and a dedicated gluten free menu meant I was a very happy girl. Can recommend the 'filthy fries' but unless you are a trencherman one portion is ample for two normal people.
Will be back.

Thank 699gail

Quite possibly the best food I’ve had. Home grown veg and locally sourced produce, our Sunday lunch was to die for.

C16 inn great warm atmosphere attentive staff, cider and a great wine list.

I had the squid followed my a giant haddock fishcake served on beans and water Ross topped with a ducks egg and hollandaise sauce finishing with sticky toffee pudding and Cornish clotted cream.

Sally had pigs cheek with beetroot-mash then lamb roast finishing with gin and tonic infused cheesecake.

Can not recommend this gem enough, worth coming from anywhere to experience.

Staying at the local Cornwall Hotel and wanted to go out somewhere nice to eat. On completing the local google search I came across this pub. After phoning and speaking to a lovely lady I booked at table for 2.
This pub is beautifully set out. Lovely outside eating areas, a setting for all including horse riders
Inside we were greeted with a smile and conversation.
A good range of different types of food on the menu and they cater to all.
We went for the tomato infused flat bread with bacon, Brie and cranberry with potato lattices - absolutely stunning meal.
We then shared the cheese board and the chef was kind enough to swap out the blue cheese.
Highly recommend this pub

From the specials to the menu all food was delicious. Lots of speciality gins, Cornish ales & ciders.
Our daughter is dairy intolerant and they catered for her every need with no complaint. The staff are so friendly and best of all they are dog friendly. Make sure you go if you’re in the area, may need to book as they do get busy, you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I had never visited The Polgooth Inn, even though we live not too far away and had heard good things about it. We had a very good meal, exactly as described on menu, well cooked, served hot and delicious. We only ate a main course so can't comment on puds. We enjoyed the surroundings of a typical traditional old inn, the waitress was cheerful and helpful. There is a large car-park and parking space for horses! It is a busy place and might be good to book in advance, particularly as tourist season advances. Can't recommend highly enough.
