My husband and I were staying in a holiday cottage just up the road and had two meals here during our stay. The pub's atmosphere was great, good mix of ages and people in both the bar and the restaurant. We sat outside on both occasions as we had our 8 month old puppy with us who can be a little disruptive in crowded places but the outside seating was well lit and they even have blankets you can use if you get cold which I though was really sweet.
I tried the pig cheeks to start as I've never had them before and they were beautifully cooked and presented (and tasty!) and during our two meals there we sampled a few of the dishes including the rump steak which was amazing and the fish pie was equally delicious. There is a good selection of drinks on offer as well including some super local ales. The staff were friendly and very prompt so couldn't really fault anything about the service, the only reason we haven't given 5 stars is that my husband had the rack of ribs the first evening and they were lacking in flavour. Just wish we were closer than four hours away!
