We took the Ski train from Denver's Union Station for a weekend of skiing at Winter Park. When the owner realized that, on Saturday, he called to ensure we arrived ok, and told us which bus to take from the resort to the town of Winter Park (the black line). the bus stop is steps from Valley Hi. He offered to let us check in early, and when we mentioned casually that my wife isn't skiing, he offered to let her check out really late on Sunday. The rooms are big, enough to store a lot of gear. The breakfast spread (lower level) is plentiful.
No it's not the Four Seasons, and I go to Winter Park for the skiing. end of the day, the bed and room did it's job! It's a quality friendly budget hotel that is extremely convenient to stay at. across the street are several places to eat (we ate at Leo's Kitchen and glad we did) and a coffee shop for all of your espresso needs. Next block over is several restaurants.
We have stayed there twice this season (Jan and Feb) and I would again.
