My husband and I ate here last week. The situation of the restaurant is wonderful. The views spectacular. We don't speak Spanish and the waitress doesn't speak English however that added to the charm of the place and the people. We managed to have a really great home cooked traditional Spanish meal. It was the menu of the day and at only 20 € I thought it was exceptional value. The food was just what we were looking for bean stew to start wonderful we both enjoyed it and we're offered enough for four people! We had the beef next and it was melt in the mouth. Dessert was the best creme caramel I have ever eaten. The menu of the day comes with wine it was so good I had the cheek to ask for the rest of the bottle and they kindly gave it to me! I can recommend this restaurant to any nationality as it is one of the best full of old world charm and with home cooking it was like being an invited guest.
Try it you won't be disappointed.

This is a traditional Cantabrian restaurant serving excellent food at reasonable prices. Spectacular views from this mountain village. Run by five siblings, who each specialise in their own area.

Must tries:
First courses: Cocido Montañes, and all other bean stews. Beware, the portions are very generous. All choices are good, and salads are very large.
Main course: Venison stew, boar steak (share between two), lamb chops. Everything really.

Desserts: Home-made chestnut cake.

A meal of the above a Rioja crianza wine (not house wine, which is cheaper), desserts and coffees etc. will work out to about 30-32 per head.

Warning: they do not get many (or no) customers at night, although lunch time it is busy until late, but it is open and they will make you really comfortable if you happen to sop by for dinner! Generally, Cantabrians seem to go out more for lunch rather than dinner.
