If you remember back to when you were a kid and the butchers and delis were small mom and pop stores. The food is great and it reminds me of old times. Dont pass it by
My husband and I chose The Old Country Deli to hold our wedding ceremony and reception, on 8/14/15 and we couldn't be more happier with how our day turned out! The Deli is really a hidden gem, as the location is in a neighborhood and the wow factor is when you walk into the hall. The wavel hall is huge!!! There is a bridal suite that you are able to use, this is where I along with my 7 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls got ready the morning of. We had a hair and makeup people do everything right there and there was plenty of room to move about and have a great time getting ready. When choosing our food for the wedding we were able to partake in multiple tastings, as many as we needed to make our decision. We choose roasted sirloin, baked stuffed shrimp along with chicken francese sooo yummy! This is a family run business and you really can tell they do such a fantastic job! Depending on the package you get a wedding coordinator is included her name is Amanda and she is just fantastic and so very helpful!! They will also work with you offering discounts if you have wedding on a friday or buffet. They also have a option of byob with recommending you purchase insurance, we choose this venue for our wedding and reception because it was different and not your normal wedding hall and we were not disappointed! So many good things to say! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! for wedding or any party!
My wife and I chose the Old Country Deli as our wedding venue. We had both our ceremony and reception in the Wawel Hall located within the venue. We chose this venue for many, MANY reasons including:
The Location. The venue was very central for the two of us, as most of our families would be commuting from both northern CT, and western MA. The venue is no more than 5 minutes off the highway (I-91) making it extremely easy for our guests to find.
The Food. We tried a wide variety of food which was all incredible! We ended up choosing Prime Rib, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and a Veggie Lasagna for our meal choices at the wedding, which was served buffet style. Our hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour were nothing shy of amazing. Our hors d'oeuvres included two different style pierogis (meat/potato, and cheese/potato), which were out of this world, as well as a beautiful cheese and vegetable platter. Many of our friends made it a point to seek out the owner (Sasha) to tell him how great everything tasted.
The Presentation. The venue was set up beautifully, which we got to see the evening prior during our rehearsal. Everything from linens, colored bows to match the wedding colors, matching colored ribbons which streamed from the chandelier. They also had various "props" we could make use of faux pillars, a trellis/arch (which we chose not to use), etc... A new addition to the venue which we were excited to utilize was a gorgeous upstairs bridal suite! We were trying to find a place for my wife and her bridal party to get ready for the day of the wedding considering all the bridesmaids live so far away from each other. Though, when Sasha made us aware of the newly constructed bridal suite all of our problems were solved!
The Service. Sasha and his team were outstanding and exceeded our expectations! They were so patient and accommodating to our every need. My wife's father, and my mother passed away recently, and we wanted to set up a memorial table (with pictures of both on them) which Sasha made sure to have set up for us.
The Price. THIS is part where most couples seeking a venue stress out. Most couples scour the ends of the Earth looking for the most reasonable price, only to get struck with sticker shock when they see the venues rates. My wife and I certainly had sticker shock after going over rates with Sasha, only our shock wasn't from high rates, our shock was from how unbelievably reasonable and affordable their rates were! Our first instinct was, "there HAS to be some sort of catch. A hidden fee, some random tax that you're slapped with when you finally get the bill at the end". Boy were we wrong. The rates were nearly HALF of what other venues were asking.
Their food is excellent ! Their service and attention to their customers is also excellent ! It's the kind of place that seems to really care about how their food tastes to you. It is so very good. It may not look very elaborate from the outside, but don't make the mistake of passing it by. Stop and eat, you will not be sorry ! They serve everything, but specialize in Polish food. It is absolutely delicious ! Will definitely be visiting again !!
